At this point I'd say they're not really much more famous than Wolverine & the X-Men.Either way the DCEU is still something new, and needs to build up its own goodwill. But the negativity its got so far won't help.
All the previous Batmen and Supermen movies laid the groundwork for these DCEU movies, it's not like they're coming in as unknown entities.

Pretty sure everyone's been aware of X-Men for many years now. In fact X2 and the Last Stand did better business than Superman Returns and Batman Begins.
I'm guessing that was their plan at WB, to capitalise on the names Batman and Superman without any world building. But reboots don't work like that. Look at how the Amazing Spider-Man grossed far far less than any of the Sam Ramai Spider-Man films.
Fact is both Apocalypse and BvS would have done better if they were better films, but as it is BvS has done the better business of the 2. Even better than DOFP. But will see if the negativity towards BvS takes the DCEU related franchises down from here on out.

What great marketing?.......its not even on the same level as Deadpool.
Marketing hasn't really begun to ramp up yet, but so far the awareness is there. The trailers have been great and social media is buzzing. Check out the link I posted earlier. Pretty much all my friends and co workers are talking about this and most of them have more interest compared to BVS. The online views for the trailers also destroy BVS.

BvS was a bigger deal than SS. Even though I think SS will be the better movie, I doubt it will do better at the BO than BvS.
It sure was, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be bigger at the box office. It all comes down to reviews and legs for SS. BVS was a bigger deal and more anticipated than Jungle Book, Deadpool, and Zootopia, yet it didn't beat 2 out of 3 and barely beat JB.

I will be laughing even more when Suicide Squad doesn't make a lot of money. I already know that Matt Damon will be taking a lot of money away from Suicide Squad ...
Yeah, Bourne is going to annihilate SS.
People are still going to compare SS to Nolan's beloved creations.

You said SS had more chatter than BvS, it doesn't.

I don't think it will... Bats v Supes has turned off a lot of people... besides I just do not see people staying away from the new Jason Bourne film in its second week of release
TBH I think you're overestimating how much BvS might affect SS. Bourne is a tricky one though, yeah. That will undoubtedly get people in the door.
Haha.. even Jeremy Irons slams the film and says he's doing it for the income...
