None really. I mean I knew it would be Huge. But was just really looking forward to the film and was a little disappointed. Now I'm just looking forward to Spider-Man joining the MCU. That will break some box office records for sure.

What was your final grade/score? I'd give it a B- or C+. Depending on my mood.

AoU made 77.2 million this weekend, the second biggest box office opening of all time for a second weekend

Hmmm... Seems this is headed for a sub-450 million domestic total then. A massive success no doubt, but still disapointing.

Maybe disappointing relative to Avengers 1.

Well yeah. I was expecting it to get well over 500 mill.

That's pretty much all I'm saying. AOU is still a massive success, no doubt, but compared to TA 1, underwhelming. Everyone on BO forums are saying as much, because there was so much hype to this. Goes to show you that TA BO record will probably hold for a while.

It may still, we'll have to wait and see how long its legs take it

There is no chance for that now. This weekend's hold was worse than IM3's and it had no competition this weekend.

Breaking 450 million is now the goal.

Pitch Perfect is tracking ahead of AOU next weekend. And you also have Mad Max which is opening up in like 3,000 theaters.

Umm, no it wasn't. For a second weekend gross, AoU has the highest numbers in history second only to Avengers 1. Btw, IM3 had little competition as well.

I think he means the % change. It only did around 1 % worse than IM 3.

AoU has grossed more than IM3 on both its first and second weekends

I said "holds". AoU dropped 59.6% compared to its OW while IM3 dropped 58.4%. This suggests that AoU will have a multiplier very similar to IM3. To cross 500 mill it's going to need a vastly better multiplier and that's clearly not going to happen now.

Fact of the matter is, AoU will most probably outgross IM3 and at least come near Avengers 1 numbers. Not like it matters too much, but that's not bad. Earlier projections from people like you were clouded by hype, now that reality is settling in it's a little underwhelming.

Oh it will out gross IM3, little doubt about that. However, it's multiplier (or legs if you prefer) will probably be about the same.

Okay, ares you're right about the drop from opening weekend being more than IM3. Not that bad a deal still

😂 Still butt hurt? I'm only comparing domestic here, chief. Avengers will finish lower than #1.
Do us all a favor and gtfo out of this thread.

Don't be mad, ODG. 🙁

Yeah, it'll probably gross about 450-460 M.

All you've done is troll this thread and your attempts to talk about the plot every 1 out of 4 posts is so transparent, it's pathetic.

I guess word of mouth was just OK and Whedon erased his Twitter account, because of the backlash. 😂

That or the novelty wore off. 🙁
-----------------------
That's a worse drop than Spider-Man 3. Compare Avengers 1 numbers to this date to AOU.
-----------------------
No wonder Whedon is done with Marvel.
-----------------------
Go ahead. This isn't even the first director to leave. Whedon is a perfectionist. I'm sure he's angry.
-----------------------
How am I trolling? Everything I've said is true.
-----------------------
Sorry to bring something up a little negative. Didn't know everything had to be positive. Good to know. 👆
-----------------------
BTW, what DC thing have I brought up here? Don't remember.
-----------------------
TDKR didn't have 3-d 3 years ago, so it's BO run is more impressive. TA 2 will have a hard time getting to 500 M domestically.
-----------------------
If you adjust for inflation, TDKR got 467 M domestic, which means it sold more tickets in the long run.
-----------------------
I'm not leaving OS out, but domestic is more important for BO results. AOU will land around 440-450. That's a good number, but lower than the 1st Avengers and TDKR.
-----------------------
True. If AOU was better it would have made as much as A1. 😉 -----------------------
Man of Steel also did impressively on AMC's March Madness. Made it to the finals, beating TDKR and Spider-Man.
-----------------------
Yeah, I guess it wasn't. TDKR set BO record for biggest OW 2-D movie. -----------------------
I never said it was relevant at all. It's interesting to me to compare the numbers between these 2 massive movies. People get butthurt when you point out something that seems negative, but I know many of you here would point out that it broke records if it did, but it didn't.

Like I said, if this movie were to break BO records, people would be praising the hell out of it, just like the OTHER Avengers thread, but once someone brings up that it didn't, it's trolling. Nope, you're the only one that is trolling here.

Why are you posting in this thread? Just leave. 10+ pages of this sh1t. I can't believe the mods haven't punted you out for this.
