Amc viewers are not representative of the general population. Especially back then.

Never said they were, but the best thing we can go on is general sites like IMDB, where hundreds of thousands of votes are counted. Is it perfect? Not even close, because we get tons of trolls on IMDB that will rate a movie a 1 even though it doesn't warrant that. Nobody really knows what the general population thinks of a movie until we see ratings and reviews on sites such as those.

Yeah, I guess it wasn't. TDKR set BO record for biggest OW 2-D movie.

Nice. Also Dark Knight wasn't released in China iirc. The world wide box office has expanded so much in the last few years it's not really fair to say this movie(from 5 years ago) grossed more than that movie(from this year) because of the expansion overseas.

Batman is an iconic franchise and TDKR was coming off possibly the greatest comic book movie of all time in TDK. Meanwhile, Avengers was relatively more obscure and wasn't projected to be that high in box office. No surprise here.

That's why it's better to compare domestic. But then that's not a perfect comparison either. Given movies like DOFP did much better abroad but not "tremendously well " domesticslly (it never passed X3's domestic total).

But if you ask me the best X-Men movie to date(and one of my favorite superhero movies of all time) was one of the lowest grossing ones- First Class.

So f*** the box office figures.

Box office is just all about Hype and Marketing and s***. The quality of the movie only has a moderate effect. (Look at the Transformers sequels).

And Golgo give it a rest. AOU has only been out a week. It might still catch A1 at the box office (not that anyone should give a crap), and is almost definitely going to soar past the Billion mark. Will surpass IM3 for sure.

It's most surely going to pass it WW, but not domestically. TA did 600 plus domestically! Very impressive.

And I've just explained above that just domestic is not always the best comparison tool. Otherwise X-Men DOFP looks like it did poorly next to X-Men 3.

Also A1 was the first time something like that was done (ensemble franchise), which was really exciting for people.

Unfortunately DC lost their chance to be the first one in there. So their films will likely never make that kind of money. And they've got no one to blame for that but themselves.

Too early to tell on that front. The OS gross is becoming more important than domestic, though. In terms of considering ones success. However, most people like to look at domestic only.

To be fair though that's how polls work. Take a sample of your movie audience. No one asks everyone who watched the movie.

So then DOFP did worse than X3. Does that mean X3 was the better movie? Of course not.

Never said it was.

So why you going on about AOU not making as much as A1 "domestically" as being relevant to anything?

I never said it was relevant at all. It's interesting to me to compare the numbers between these 2 massive movies. People get butthurt when you point out something that seems negative, but I know many of you here would point out that it broke records if it did, but it didn't. You can just ignore my posts, no big deal.

Crap.

That's just stupid when i'm pretty sure they said he had a Healing factor in the movie

i'm sure he's telling a lie just to fool people.

If that's true then it was most likely part of the Fox deal. Fox keeps using QS and Marvel uses Scarlet Witch.

Yeah despite Maria Hill talking about his healing abilities 🙄

Good for her. Still doesn't change the fact that the film made it clear he died.

Congrats on ignoring things.
