The Force bond is a terrible EU creation, but one that I won't pin on Avellone, since it originated elsewhere.

There really didn't have to be a reveal. Have Kreia be the blunt, argumentative, blackmailing b1tch she really is to tertiary characters like Atton and so but an effective manipulator needs to disguise their sinister designs.

In Buffyverse terms, she needed to be more Mayor Wilkins/Holland Manners (Affably Evil and/or Faux Affably Evil) than The Master (Obviously Evil).

But that would screw up her whole thing of being a mentor to you. You can't have all those interesting conversations with you if she's pretending to be a good guy. Plus I think most people would just be pissed off that their character can't see through her lies and would feel uninspired to talk to her if she's just going to lie and manipulate you.

Caedus is worse.

Also Abeloth probably. At least Vitiate has interesting story's based around him.

Caedus's transformation was the product of years of propaganda, harsh experiences, and pilgrimages to other Force cults. Invincible too late established him to be a ruthless but compelling Big Bad. Vitiate isn't remotely interesting in any depiction: he's lite!Palpatine minus the success and appeal.

Abeloth is close to Vitiate's lameness, definitely.

Who are your favorite villains. Top 5. And least favorite.

Hmm, that's tough.

1. Vader
2. Sidious

After that it just becomes too difficult.

Least favorite big bad is Vitate.

What about the ancient sith LOL.

Also does anyone know why this forum had tons of ancient sith fanboys in 2005-2006?. From viewing old topics its crazy how much this site changed.

The problem is his transformation from interesting and intelligent Dark Jedi in Traitor to gibbering madman in subsequent books. It totally crossed the line of believability and destroyed our ability to emphasise or relate with him.

At least Exar Kun has old-school comicbook villainy as a good point. Abeloth is just meh.

Yeah, they ****ed up with Caedus. You also gotta love how he became Chief of State...

No clue.

Essentially, a guy named Lightsnake came along and challenged the old ways. Then he quickly converted another guy named Gideon, who would go on to rule the forum as the most gifted logician and rhetorician in the history of the universe (see Zampano for the relevant quote) until his untimely ambush by corrupt moderators. We prostrate ourselves before Him and live to carry on His ways.
