Really, Bane with or without Orbalisks, is quite impressive.
I mean with lightning. He disintegrates a stun-net and a chunk of stone wall. Its also stated that were it not for Cognus dampening his power he would have disintegrated 3 opponents plus her. He also melted blasters with an ionic storm while drugged.

Like, I'm sure it'll be super useful if his opponent tries channeling power through him, he'll pull that shit off like a pro, but other than that its pretty irrelevant to his combat ability.
Also since Vitiate could channel enough energy to consume the galaxy, does that make him like, way the **** better compared to Bane to you?
When that channeling of power takes the form of targeting Force lightning at you I would hope it would be useful. The quality of the feat would be no different if they had all been attacking him with lightning; that their intent was one of cooperation makes no difference as the effects of lightning do not differentiate by intent; if it hits you, it hurts. It's basically an unparalleled demonstrated of tutanamis or whatever that ability is called, and even more seeing as he made efforts to store it and then demonstrated the mastery to spread it across the entire planet.
For the record as far as I'm concerned Nihilus >>>> Bane and I don't really know jack about Vitiate but I get the impression he might be something like a Nihilus 2.0 so I'd be fine with that. Still, the circumstances would have to be the same which I doubt they were.
Yeah but it was a ritual. Its not actual Force lightning and PoD specifically says the ritual would 'unite the minds and spirits of the Sith through a single vessel' and while using it that 'Their minds drifted deeper and deeper into the well of power contained within each individual, drawing on their strength and combining it through a single conduit.'
You should read up on Vitiate though, the mans got the chops to surpass Sidious imo.
