The reboot was hardly shitty, it brought in loads more money than its production budget, and was praised by the original Evil Dead director.

Ash becomes the father figure Link never had. He finally teaches him to speak. "Groovy" will be his first words cuz we all know Ash > Link

As awesome as that would be, he actually had a few lines of dialogue in SS, and Link grew up faster than Ash did given all the shit he went through at such a young age (17 as an adult), so the need for parental guidance is null. haermm
