This doesn't bode well for Hollywood when they can't even make a decent Terminator movie. I don't expect greatness, but they had all the ingredients necessary to make a decent movie and they still failed.
They've not really put the effort into it like they are doing for something like Star Wars 7 IMO.
To revive something like Terminator, you need to get the best Directors for that kind of project on it, as well as the best writers, and best actors.

Lol at Quan knowing more about Star Wars then Darth Thorand that's coming from a bandwagon jumper for these new movies.
For the most part, the cast for this looks pretty good. J.K. Simmons, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke... I like those three a lot, so it's a shame that it doesn't seem like it's been handled well. From the reviews so far it sounds like another Salvation fail. Hopefully it's not that bad, though. That movie was awful.
Originally posted by Darth ThorIncorrect. I am speculating I am not saying it sucks until I see it and IMO it sucks. I really liked batman begins and the Nolan trilogy.
At least I'm talking after seeing all the main trailers, and reading/hearing tons of reviews by movie critics and movie fans. You've made up your mind on BvS after 1 teaser.
You're a Joke.
I'll render my opinion after I see it this week on here. That's how objective fans do things.

The last 2 were a waste of time.I'll be pleasantly surprised if this one's just good.
I caught a TV spot out of the corner of my eye at work today and it looks entertaining. So I think it will probably be entertaining, which is more than I could say for Salvation. I found T3 somewhat entertaining, too, but I wouldn't say it was "good." Salvation I thought was total crap, though.

The reason why we've been in reboot/sequel hell for the past 20 years is because of franchise rights. Studios buy the rights to a franchise and then they have to do something with it within X amount of years or else the rights default back to the original owner, or the public domain or whatever. So when the time rolls around for the rights to expire studios have to make a judgement call on whether to say **** it and let the rights expire or if there's money to be made with them. Most of the time studios decide to keep the rights and the only way to do that is to make a movie.
So they shit out a new movie in the franchise (branded as a "reboot" or sequel or whatever) which gets mediocre reviews and does moderately well in the box office, and they get to sit on the rights for another few years.
Making a genuinely great movie is never the goal, and history has shown that there isn't really a correlation between film quality and sales so there's no incentive. Just throw some shit out there.

Not sure it will even do that considering the last 2 Terminator films both cost $200mill to make (not including marketing).
If this one hasn't got it's budget under control, then there will be no more T-films.
