Didn't think I'd need to post more context, but apparently... I was wrong.

Those creatures Frank was fighting were "The Rot incarnate":

When said creatures began spawning en gros, Frank called a "Code 666", which, in layman's terms, is "an undead infestation":

In a nutshell: the BlackBomb was able to perma-kill undead manifestations of The Rot itself via atomization(anything less than that would've just made The Rot-creatures spread even more)... Yet Frank was immune to its effects.

So yeah, it definitely was a very impressive resistance feat for Frank. 馃檪

Ah, clarification was definitely necessary 馃憜

I started reading Frankenstein but stopped for no good reason.

Frank's solo was obviously very reminiscent of Hellboy, but it was good if for no other reason then to add a bit of depth to Franks character.

i really wanted the solo to be good, but....i just never really loved it. frank was so cool, and still has some amazing potential, but he really needs a writer to take him to some new places.... 馃槵

I thought Lemire did a wonderful job. Same with Kindt. Especially Kindt.

really? different strokes i guess.... btw--anyone know how frank ended up with michael's sword...? i never did see it explained.

Kindt's strong suit is high concepts and he delivered in Franksenstein, which is how it should be done. Same with Lemire when they visited Monster Planet, etc... It was getting pretty awesome, too, because Kindt was going to explore all the body parts that made Frankenstein and how it was composed of some of the most famous people in history. I really liked that. Just MO.

And, no, it was never explained how he got Michael's sword.

i agree--it was cool that he was going to get into the bodies that made him up. the whole monster island schtick did NOT work for me at all. the whole thing felt rushed and (even in the comic world) a little unbelievable to me. whatever. frank IS cool, no doubt, and hopefully we'll see a lot more of him.

JD Matties is the new writer and it's been pretty awesome, IMO. But I like mystic characters. Right now the team consists of Constantine, Swamp Thing, Nightmare Nurse, Phantom Stranger, Pandora, and maybe Zauriel, and Question as well. They're off to fight the embodiment of evil and searching for Zatanna, Frankenstein, and the other missing members.

cool beans. i'll get back to it. really enjoying american vampire lately, and east of west. so much out there to read....

JLD is awesome, leo. You should definitely read when you get a chance.
