Just got back from seeing this.. I loved it a lot... good humor,, fight scenes... good script.. everything works . I wasn't bored at all... loved Eric's and Raven's character.. Cyclops was good.. Sophie is freaking gorgeous and talented, she rocked as Jean.. Even Nightcrawler was pretty good.... Olivia Munn , I liked as well... Oscar Isaac, talented actor afterall five months ago he was saving the galaxy, now he wanted to destroy the world.... I had no problem with how Apoc looked, besides I knew already he wasn't gonna look like he does in the comics.. Praise Singer, keep doing them.. Bring on the next one...

I genuinely enjoy the film and only thought it was flawed on two aspects, both being mainly minor issues. I think Collider was right on the money when they said Jennifer Lawrence largely phoned in her performance, she was largely monotone and did't show much emotion throughout the movie. I mean the scenes where the group says they're going to look for Eric- she just looks stonefaced and barely shows any sort of reaction. I also would've loved to see Apocalypse do a little more in the first half, especially when they seemed to waste time on scenes like Weapon X's wolverine/constantly going back between Mystique and the other mutants.Apocalypse was an incredible villain and his motivations are basically Magneto's taken to the logical extreme. The opening scene where it shows him being imbued with his power was awesome, and the way he goes around imbuing mutants and learning of the modern world were some of my favorite scenes. Fassbender and Mcavoy as well as Isaac all made this film great. It wasn't as good as the two film that came before, but honestly I'd take it above and put it on par with anything in the prior trilogy.

Should have been more elaboration on Apoc. The initial build-up was excellent, but not enough follow-up.

Yeah, no way this was worse than BVS or Deadpool. The scenes with Magneto, fight scenes with Apocalypse, and humor make it more memorable than the ****ed up storyline of BVS and I've seen Deadpool three times and the humor/potty jokes make it less memorable than this.

Oh and I hated Apoc's look. Singer was talking S*** when he compared his look to how people initially felt about Quicksilver.Hated Apoc's powers as well. Didn't seem anything like comic book Appc to me. But at least they went for a main villain who wasn't Magneto.
Shaw is still the best villain in this trilogy. Bring Vaughn back to direct the next one.
.... Just as how Sebestian Shaw would've looked silly IMO if he had his attire from the comics in the movie, so I was glad he just had the regular businessman looking attire as Kevin Bacon.
Apoc's powers, while different from the norm for him, still did him justice as a supervillain I felt. Liked how he was able to manipulate stone the way Magneto does metal, etc. But they could've done without the thing of him needing to transfer his essence to another host, since that wasn't done until like after he lost his original body, but minor nitpick. I will admit though I was disappointed that he didn't get to assume a giant form outside of the astral plane. The shapeshifting stuff with his arms would've been nice too I suppose, though that was never one of his top defining abilities for me. Part of what makes Apocalypse interesting to me is how he's so versatile with his abilities that his powers can be different depending on who writes him. i.e. His powers are never that consistent.
But whatever. I'm sorry the movie didn't do it for you far as him.
Even if they bring back Vaughn or have someone else for the next one, I'm convinced that
Spoiler:
they'd still kill Essex/Sinister off by the end, ultimately making him another one-off bad guy like Apocalypse.
I guess not being hype for this movie was kind of justified as this movie seemed to just kind of happen. Didn't help that the movie became boring at times and was setting up for something that just happens without any real weight behind it: the ending of DoFP kind of kills the tension. Though
Spoiler:
QS saving everyone in the X-mansion and punching Apocalypse were pretty cool. Also I kind of liked the Wolverine cameo even if how it came to be doesn't make much of any sense considering Mystique posing as Stryker was the one that found him. But they finally did Magneto's powers justice and gave Cyclops something to do so there's that.
Oh and I wonder what Fox is going to do about addressing Charles/Magneto/Mystique going forward as this should be their last outing with their actors.
Who besides Psylocke was eye candy?
As mentioned, I am quite sad that they made
Spoiler:, no matter who directs. Still seems that no one besides Magneto can be recurring as an antagonist (yeah, I know he's kept alive because he has redeeming qualities as a character, yadayada).
Apocalypse a one-off villain, so I have no doubt that they'll kill Essex/Sinister by the end of the next movie
Forgot to comment on it before, but
Spoiler:
kinda sucked about Havok's death, who Quicksilver conveniently couldn't save out of everyone else in the exploding mansion, but at least it'll give Scott more a chance to shine again in the future, who has had the best treatment he's had in the movies in a long time, as pointed out.
Another problem with the cast is they look nothing like the comic book counterparts looks like casting went something like.
Give me a red head to play jean
Give me a skinny guy to play nightcrawler
Give me a blonde to play angel
Give me a black chick to play storm
I never liked James mccavoy as professor x as well...
This movie was so doo doo
