It actually makes sense that he could knock the armor off. It is clear from the encounter that Boba had been studying Samus in order to beat "him" and one assumes that without the suit Samus is toast. Naturally he takes steps to stop the suit. The problem is that Samus is a secretive person(to the point where her being a lady is a surprise) so he had no way of knowing that she'd be pretty darn effective without it.

The problem is the ease with which he disabled the suit (unless there's something I'm missing about the power of a thermal detonator), but eh. I get that the battle animations are mostly for entertainment value rather than blow-by-blow accuracy (again, if I'm missing something here, let me know), so a little wish fulfillment is expected.

All of the Death battles aren't legit. All of them suck...every last one of them. They are false representations, they cling on fts that isn't legit...not knowing the context. They probably read scenes from Google and didn't read the comic themselves or got their info from fans rather than do their own research. I don't take a single fight they've brought to the table as something legit because it isn't. They are fun to watch though.

In the next Death Battle, I'm gonna guess Nightmare wins out of sheer power. I don't know much about Guts but after seeing some bits and pieces of the Berserk Anime here and there, it doesn't look like he stands a chance unless I'm missing something. Sure he soloed an army of soldiers but so did Nightmare and he did it with a single blast.
