No, your claim was that it was directly stated that Thor would die.

That's what Loki stated, sure. IOW you've no proof that Thor wouldn't have died from it. He looked to be KTFO by that dive anyhow seeing how he gets up several minutes after that when hellicarrier was stabilized and Tony and Fury were talking. Anyway superman wins as he always does against Thor. Just look at my sig.

No, that isn't what Loki stated, that is what you're inferring from what Loki stated....there is a rather large difference between the two.

Ok, look, the best thing for either one of you to do would be to determine wether or not Thor would have actually died from that fall.

Inferrence from Loki doesn't mean all that much, as Loki has been wrong about Thor before. It does mean that he thinks Asgardians can at least be killed, but wether or not that fall would have done it is another matter.

So. my question is this: are there any other examples? preferably something more direct?

Stop lying, Loki never directly stated that the fall would kill Loki....by your own admission what Loki actually stated was ""the humans think us immortal. Shall we put that to the test?"

You don't know about this cat like I do. If the position were reversed, he would've crowed it in the whole thread. Sit back and see just how many times this guy can repeat himself.

Which means Thor was about to die as Loki implied. Anyway Superman wins.

Not necessarily. It does however mean that gravity scares the crap out of Thor.

That it does bro. That it does.

Gravity scared Thor, same way it scared Superman when he was the one crashing.

He broke out of it by mjolnir, it wasn't done by his body slamming.

Not the same momentum, it was directly stated that he would die from the impact and the fact that he was so panicked certainly cements the idea. He crash landed on earth after his flight negated the momentum from the falling.

Rewatch the scene. He blows a body sized hole in it after launching himself from his feet at the reinforced glass window.

No, it wasn't directly stated that he would die from the impact. He wasn't panicked either. And when he ricochet-crashed on that field, he was head down in a slanting position towards the ground.

Exactly

So both survived.
Considering the height both characters survived insane feats.

Not a question the debate was what form was Banner in, when he hit the ground as just as the workman said

"right through you roof all big, green and ugly"

Had Thor been in that steel trap..the question of his immortality would have been put into question as Loki wanted to test..Loki is usually right is he not?

Right about what?

Like when he overpowered the gravity beam of a planetary world engine? Thor would've been turned into paste.

I did. It was done by mjolnir, not his own body. Its like slamming and breaking out of a window by a hammer.

At least it was implied by Loki that he would die. Why would "test the immortality" line be added if there was no chance that Thor would've died? Of course he was panicked as he was hammering the cage repeatedly.

And then he was shown much later trying to pick up the hammer. He was at best stunned and at worst KTFO. Anyway Superman wins, yes or no?
