Er.. Your own opinion - which unless I misread is what you just told everyone to bear in mind when they made comments about how over-rated a movie is.FACT: LOTR is desperately over-rated because it took a work of genius and turned it into a pile of steaming cinematic horsecrap. It's a Bland epic with no heart that depends on computer game standard animation battle scenes to give it it's majestic sweep, rather than subtle nuances of character that defined the book. It's a disgrace that deserves to be burned.
Oh wait, I'm mistaken: not a fact - simply my opinion... one I know thousands upon thousands disagree with me about... but still mine.
So the question is - what do you think is the most over-rated AND WHY!
Have an opinion, back it up - I'll respect anyones POV if they can argue why they think that way.
Hope you know that by saying LOTR is overated and comparing its CGI to a computer game oh and calling it cinematic horsecrap you just lost your ability to ever be tooken seriously by more than half the people at these forums.
Lotr,TT,Rotk are all masterpieces done with the greatest care and effort oon the directors and actors part.

I'm no big fan of CGI in movies - Give me LEGEND over LOTR any day, no matter how scary you think the balrog looks, it's as nothing to Tim Curry dressed in latex. - just my opinion yanno. You did make a bit of a blanket "I will hear no argument" statement about LOTR - which i though needed pointing out since you were appealing for just the opposite from everyone else.
Well, in reference to WETA, I was referring to MASSIVE, and how the program was the first to integrate independent movement in mass produced characters, i.e. Battle of Helm's Deep; Urk'hai armies "doin' their own thing" simultaneously.
I think you misinterpreted my intial LOTR statement, because while I was left little room for arguement, I was in the majority, thinking the movie had no equal, relating to sheer fantasy scope, and costume/set design. A hypocrite, I am not.

The majority also think Justin Timberlake is an awesome musician relating to his dancing.
Set design? You mean the beautiful set they created that IS New Zealand? I think that was there before they were.
I think the movies are good. Just good. Compared to the book, they are nothing.

OMG are you serious!?!?!?
😱 😱 😱
dude, you're on the starwars forum so much they are going to start charging you rent!!! speak the truth creechuur! star wars rules and you know it!!! 😆
i actually think that in no way the matrix was hyped or geared up for the success it has. but not the same can be said to reloaded and revolutions. reloaded and revolutions were ultra-hyped and when they came out they turned out to be over-rated (i still a fan though) compared to the first one.
talk about over rated, how about the hulk?
