The Star Trek 2009 trailer is one of the best trailers I have ever seen. The trailers for Cloverfield and Into Darkness were good also. Abrams can make great trailers, and his films usually deliver too.

It's probably from a rumored flash back sequence. In it "the Seven" battle "the Clan" with "the Clan using Anakin's saber against the Seven. Well, now I think it's save to say the Seven are the Knights of Ren (as long speculated) and I'd guess that the clan are what remained of the Jedi.
Gotta say, I love how they are treating the events of the OT as myths and legends.

He doesn't appear until literally the final minutes of the film. Much of the movie is centered about finding where he is in exile. At the end of the movie, they figure out where he is and Rey goes to him presumably for training.

BUt some concept art depicts him as a zombie-esque and other as snake-like. But thta's only concept art and may not be how he appears in the final film.
