Its hard to imagine why the cops didn't just open fire on Cold and Heat Wave when they were standing out in the open blasting Flash.
I know I already have to suspend my disbelief of the fact that Flash could gave just punched both of them in the face, but that entire scene kind of had my rolling my eyes.
I liked Heat Wave and Cold, but dear god they corn-factor of their lines was too much some times. Especially Cold.
Still, good episode.

yeah he has done it a couple of times. But im not so sure its really a problem with consistency like people think. In the first episode we saw him watch everything slow down to where it was almost frozen and when he was talking to Iris everything was frozen. But then the fight with Girder he had to run 3 miles to pick up enough speed. Then there was the episode when he "lost" his powers. He found out that he was subconsciously restricting himself. After he figured out how to take control he saved Wells from Blackout. As we saw in that episode everything was frozen. Even the lightning was moving really slow. I might be reading to much into it but imo his powers are "inconsistent" because hes still figuring out how to fight his own mental block. I think that once he breaks that mental block he will be consistently FTL. I think even after all his training he wont be fast enough during his showdown with RF and then he will burst through that mental block and be The Fastest Man Alive again. Although I do think that He wont go FTL most of the time do to CIS/PIS for the same reasons they use CIS/PIS in the comics.

Cold in the comics actually can stop bullets in mid-air by freezing the air. Basically slows everything down to a crawl. They could have shown that and would have made sense the cops were useless.
It wasn't just that, there was just loads of PIS/CIS throughout the episode.
Cold not shooting at the Cop's legs when they had their shields up. Flash not being able to land at least 1 punch on Cold or Heatwave. (He should really be able to KO them both before they can even fire).
The cops never firing at them is just the icing on the cake.
Honestly it would only take some kind of Hi-Tech Armored suit to solve most these problems. But they probably don't want to hide Wentworth Miller's face. As it was though I just couldn't take the episode seriously. A big step down from the previous episode Imho.
So apparently they have made it pretty clear that

Wells SpeedForce connection is all wonky and its not fixing itself so he is using the tachyon Particles to get himself back up to speed. As much as he used his superspeed in this episode and the red lightning it is perfectly clear he is The Reverse Flash...or at least one of them if they use two.
My theory is Wells is Eobard from the future who went back to kill Barry's mom for revenge since he couldn't kill the Flash as a child. If he did then he himself wouldn't exist. He got stuck there because his connection to the SpeedForce was cut since it didn't exist at that time. Now he plans to use the blood he got from Blackout to steal The Flashs powers. Imo they are going with the idea that Barry actually generates The SpeedForce which would be why he wouldn't be trapped in the past like Wells. If he left before he generated too much then Wells wouldn't have been able to leave after The Flash had already left.
