Its apparent that Wells figures out how to go back in time and try to stop Barry from saving his mom cause it will cause major damage.

I think Barry just isn't going to do it.

That would at least have made sense! Instead he seemed completely taken aback, baffled - even hurt. Not physically, but emotionally, that

I just wish they would write these shows more consistently. If they did it your way, it would have made complete sense. Instead I feel offended, not by you but by the laziness of the writers.

It's such a little thing, but it's the little things that shows how much you care about a show, imo.

Barry knew something was going to happen - they both realized they were in danger right before the lightning took place. He wasn't expecting the punch at all.

Why is Cold stealing money when he has a GOLD gun???

If you compare both scenes, you'll see that Barry is looking back through the window when the lightning strikes. The lightning is about a foot from the roof of the car when he looks up, sees it, and gets them both out of the car.

Yet when Eddie calls out to him he turns around, looks right at Eddie, watch him draw his arm back and take a swing at him from more than a foot away - and gets knocked flat on his ass, where he lies embarrassed and upset.

Henry Pym's suggestion would at least make sense.

Inevitably, there is only one conclusion to draw: Eddie's punch is faster than lightning.

Oh god, I didn't even think of that. I did at one point briefly consider that they would have to use the gold gun very sparingly, to conserve the gold they use, but I never bothered to stop and wonder where they got the gold in the first place!

Well, this episode definitely seemed to be laying the foundation for eventually teaming up Cold with Firestorm, Black Canary and ATOM, like CW apparently plans to do.

I mean we see that Cold doesn't care about money etc. so his motivations aren't the same as the average villain. He is basically an adrenaline junky who likes to test and challenge himself. And now with Barry convincing him not to kill, it kinda lays down the groundwork for him eventually becoming more of an anti-hero type character.

I also liked how they managed to make him a relevant threat without requiring Barry to suffer from massive PIS.

You think the TV show has enough guts to create a Flashpoint like reality for one season, where Barry ultimately realizes his mother needs to die (regardless of how he feels)?

It would be pretty sweet, although it would end up having to affect the Arrow tv show and I doubt they'd go that far.

I personally think they are leading people to Flashpoint as a throw back to the comics/movie. I don't think they will really go through with it. Most likely he will understand why to save himself and not his mom before he runs back to that time.
