Yeah and thats cool but I always liked Captain Cold because he wasn't just some random dude with a "Mr Freeze" gun. He was actually really intelligent and pretty honorable. Even Mr Freeze has admitted Cold's cold gun was better and he is a molecular biologist.

Body armor wouldn't work because it would be expensive and impractical and wouldn't really solve the issue of them not getting shot unless its full body which brings up the whole other issue of acting in it. Costumes are hard enough for these shows without going full on body armor. Force fields are also silly and you'd need to do the character differently to account for them. And giving them superpowers of their own defeats the point of the character.
Nah wouldn't be much more expensive at all, considering the kind of stuff they do on the show.
The armor mask can come on and off to deal with the acting.
Any force field could be generated by the weapon they have.
If they can't think of a sensible and practical way to make them work, then they shouldn't use them until they work that out. But these are the guys who are going to give us Gorilla Grodd for GOD's sake, so you can't honestly tell me body armor or forcefields are just too expensive and impractical for them.

However since they're planning to have several of them, "Rogue's Gallery" that should be a lot more believable.
