The Flash

I had not actually. I just checked now. You're right, he is hardly someone who looks like a super villain. Actually kind of looks like a younger version of the F1 racer Lewis Hamilton. It'd be really hard to sell him as a Zoom reveal considering how they have been hyping Zoom up as this monstrous demon. It's tough already making someone called Zoom sound scary.

Plus to be honest I don't want Wally as Zoom. I don't know why, I just don't. Before the brother was mentioned I thought Wally might be some future child of Iris and Barry.

Zoom does also look charred. Perhaps the lightning that gave him speed also burnt him up? Then he made a costume fashioned on his own situation. He's all burnt up and thinks speed is the only thing that makes him special and can't stand to see others have it. But then the speed comes with a healing factor so probably not.

Here is something I don't think has been answered though. Why was Eobart Thawne fighting future Barry in the first place? Since Eobart was born over 100 years from now..why? Did he travel back in time and fight future Barry and then decide to go back even further to kill him? Did Barry travel forward?

By the way if you name your kid Eobart then "super villain" is pretty much his only career choice.

😂

From the pic showing Zoom's eyes it could be an alternate version of Barry's Dad.

My personal theory is Eddie, but Barry or Barry's dad would also be fantastic ideas.

Barry's dad being a villain speedster would make me feel all nostalgic about the old, early 90s Flash TV series.

If nothing else the alternate earths and timelines sure make it hard to guess exactly who or what the villain is. I remember during the 1st season at one point people thought Dr. Wells was a Monitor.

I think this is the best live action series to capture the feeling of the comics.

This show makes slogging through Arrow worth it. They're doing a great job. New fun love interest? Done. Awesome comic tie-ins every episode? Done. Characters that don't give into the CW drama BS every week (just every 3-4 weeks)? Done. Zany time travel and alternate Earth stuff? Done. Silver Age Flash and who knows who else? Done.Tom Cavanaugh killed it but we erased him from time? Screw it, let's bring him back bc he's awesome! Hey, do you f*ckers want King Shark for no good reason?! Here you go, you glorious bastards.

Meanwhile, Arrow is on S4 of "You hid this from me for two episodes?! How could you?", villain #19 that wants to purge the city and rebuild, and a bunch of boring sub-plots. Constantine couldn't even buoy his episode, though Matt Ryan certainly tried his damndest.

Yeah the one problem the show has is the Smallville relationship syndrome. Show was on for 10 seasons and Lois Lane shows up in the 4th season, her and Clark aren't actually together until the 9th. So you knew every single romance any of them had with other people was just filler.

Seems like this show has run into the same problem, but a lot earlier. Am I the only one who finds the Barry/Iris thing a bit creepy though? They are essentially step brother and step sister. Might of been less creepy if they didn't become step brother and sister until they were adults, but they have been that way since they were kids. Then Joe knows full well the guy he thinks of as a son wants to bone his daughter and Joe apparently takes actions to make sure sooner or later said banging will take place.

It's only natural for kids who grow up together to fall in love sometimes. Joe knows that and probably figures if they get married, then Barry really will be his son. And he'd love that since he already considers him such.

Nope.

Creepy how? They're not related by blood, and Barry wasn't exactly a baby when Joe took him in.

Incest fetish confirmed.

😛

But I agree, I don't find it creepy. Just slightly boring bc of the inevitability factor that Surtur mentioned. I would LOVE a curveball if they didn't end up together. But very few writers are that ballsy.

Barry/Iris is less creepy than Jamie/Cersei, but creepier than Luke/Leia

Also wait Constantine appeared on Arrow? I thought his show was cancelled?

They weren't babies but Barry seemed to be around 10 yrs. old so not exactly teens either. So I dunno, just the fact they lived together from that young age and call the same dude "father" creeps me out.

It was cancelled but CW saved the character and made him a part of the Arrow/Flash verse. He will also be in Legends of Tomorrow...unless something happens.

This would be a good idea. That show is already going to have plenty of high end technology and metahumans so they need some magic as well.

So um...Zoom's pretty cool and stuff this episode.

did Zoom damage Barry's spine?

To me it looked like a nerve cluster, though the choke might have damaged his spine too.

Really enjoyed that episode, especially the second half. Zoom is a monster.
