The Flash

Just as expected, Savage is a real monster, even for team Flash and Arrow combined. The lead-up to that other show is really picking up now.

Savage is pretty fast for an old guy. 😆

You should check out the proper teaser trailer for it on Youtube, if you haven't already. Came out like a week or so ago, and you can see that they are going balls to the wall with this series. Looks awesome so far.

Edit: I stuck a link in the relevant thread for people who haven't seen it.

I haven't been keeping up with Arrow, but why did Felicity break up with Ray? Last season they were together and now suddenly she is with Oliver.

There is just one thing that bugged me with Savage, they did the cliché thing you do with immortals. You have a character go "oh did you learn to do that from (insert famous historical person)" and they go "nah they learned from me!". I'm sure he helped kill Jesus and was Hitler's mentor as well.

Anyways I want to slap Cisco, stop acting like you need to keep your powers a secret from anyone. If Kendra can deal with Barry being the Flash she can deal with your visions. I also just laughed at one of the reasons he liked Kendra being "she loves movies". That to me is like saying "she enjoys eating".

Kind of wished Vandal Savage was a caveman but I guess this is okay. Also wasn't Zoom supposed to be a thing or something?

Not sure I like how Savage's immortality is explained (in how he's tied to Hawkman and Hawkgirl and has to kill them, over and over), but otherwise he's okay to me.

Zoom I guess they're saving for the later half of the season after they're done promoting Legends of Tomorrow.

goddamn Felicity looked smoakin' in that green dress.

you mean in a flashback? 'cause why would he still be a caveman in current time?

Vandal is originally a caveman given immortality by sleeping next to a fallen meteor. He has nothing to do with the Hawks reincarnation.

I actually didn't get the impression his immorality came from the hawk people. Rather that because of their reincarnation ability he tethered himself to them because he knew he could grow in power every time he killed them and he knew they'd always come back.

Also who is that woman at the end of the episode with the kid and who Oliver obviously knows? Tell me that is not his kid.

there was no indication that he wasn't a caveman. from what i gather, the Hawks are only giving him enhanced stats.

Anyone else not liking this show as much?

From what I gathered, this version of Vandal Savage got his immortality at the same time as the Hawks died during the meteor shower. If he was around longer than this then all is forgiven.

As much in comparison to last season or Arrow?

Only thing I don't like is the assumption by the writers that everyone watching this also watches Arrow; Who was the guy with the death touch? Random bad guy? Recurring villain? This is never explained. Who is the woman with the kid? This is never explained.

^ Damien Darhk was introduced this season of Arrow while the woman was introduced in season 2 of Arrow.

Last season.

I also wonder what did Captain Cold originally demand from Barry? When he helps Barry out late in season 1 he asks for everything on him to be erased. But before that he asks for something and writes it down and Flash says he can't do it.

What did he want?!

Also so is that kid with that woman Oliver's kid?

From what I saw, they made it pretty clear Vandal is the reason there even is a reincarnation cycle. Him killing them, and having the Nth Metal and spouting that curse, blah blah blah all combined to start the cycle off. Before that he was a normal guy.

All they said was he tethered his life force to theirs and grows more powerful each time he slays them.

If his immortality was tied to these people why would he ever chance killing them?

It didn't seem like he created the curse. If they were tethered in that way then shouldn't the Hawk people be true immortals too? One of these people instantly gets up from falling several stories and being shot with arrows, the other person is taken out by a bolt of speed force lightning.

Anyways, why is Jay so against this speed formula? It worked and there didn't see to be any negative side effects. Though I thought they would of injected Wells with the formula to give him a temporary healing factor.
