to conclude or suppose from grounds or evidence insufficient to ensure reliability.

There is plenty of evidence to back up the claim that Thor was holding back...meanwhile there is zero evidence that the Hulk was holding back or that he can get any angrier than he was while fighting Thor. [/B]

There are cues and implications that Thor is holding back. There is no conclusive evidence.

Especially considering interpretation of the scene is subjective, and therefore cannot be regarded as fact.

❌ No. In TIH, Hulk landed a fall from the stratosphere. Now you're just lowballing

In Avengers, Hulk got knocked out after he fell from the hellicarrier. Though the guy that found him mentioned he was awake when he fell, cosidering that Banner awoke in the exact same spot where he fell indicates that Hulk got knocked out soon after.

Or maybe he was no longer angry, and therefore transformed back into his human self.

The security guard had the time to retrieve an extra pair of pants and return during the time Banner was ko'd.

Let me guess, the only think you would consider conclusive evidence is Thor flat out saying "I'm holding back, because you're an ally".

Considering that the landing must have been quite a painful experience and that Hulk was completely enraged just moments before, it's a pretty big stretch to think he just "simply calmed down" after all that. And all the while remaining perfectly in place and not moving.

Even that is not conclusive when it comes to the medium of visual arts. The only way the evidence you suggest would be sufficient in cinema is if a narrator spoke it. It would also be conclusive in a book or comic.

What is spoken by the characters themselves is not accurate enough evidence, still just assumption. It is only a fact if it is corroborated by the writer - which can only happen through narration in a movie or through stream of consciousness in book/comic

You realize Hulk landed a fall much much greater in the previous movie right?

For all we know Thor could have been lying to Hulk. Thor could have been using words as a strategy to defeat Hulk. To get Hulk to calm down enough, and then hit him unconscious.

It is a possibility, which is why evidence based on what Thor said is insufficient.

Is it because I've already quoted them, or do you not realize how utterly retarded those two posts were?

FF218 has already said that Thor was probably holding back. This coupled with the fact that Thor was weakened by his unusual descent to Earth indicates that Thor is more powerful than Hulk.

It's been a good thread, but it's over now guys. We're done.

I just watched that scene Thor wasn't holding back IMO.

You mean that you missed the part where he tried to reason with the Hulk, didn't use charged hammer shots or lightning and where he tried to use a submission hold on the Hulk instead of continuing to beat on the Hulk with Mjolnir?

By that analogy we can say Hulk was holding back too ! He could just grab Thor and break his body or break his neck but he didn't !! he was just beating him normally !!

Did you miss the part where the Hulk was in a murderous rage and trying to kill his allies, I mean the Thor vs Hulk fight started when Thor saved BW''s life.

I don't think Bruce was completely out of control, he wasn't that bloody angry like he was in Incredible Hulk sure he was mad but not that Hulk mad to kill his allies.
