I think part of it is diminishing returns after watching a bunch of ASMR videos. But it's always been easier for me irl than on videos, so that's part of it too. If I got to see a watch being made irl, I'd probably melt.
In related news, I had a 1-hour massage with my gf the other day as a birthday gift from her. It was spec-damn-tacular. I highly recommend it, despite the (probably prohibitive) price.
Yes, I'm noticing the ASMR desensitization. I try to limit my video watching on these things to like...once every 2 months.
Also, some back massages give me complete and full ASMR feels. This one old man who had what he labeled as a "Vietnamese" style massage practice gave me the most relaxing and ASMR-ish massage I've ever had. In his own right, he's an artisan, too: decades of honing his craft to perfection. Someone should do a documentary on that guy. Maybe a short 10-minute one where he explains his techniques and demonstrates them. To date, I have never run into anyone who employed his techniques in a massage (and before anyone tries to make this sexual, Robtard, he did nothing of the sort. He just had excellent techniques for relaxing the muscles and giving an enjoyable massage).
Usually, I get deep-tissue massages from my employee's wife. Those are almost NEVER comfortable. I should get one of those relaxing massages, like you describe.
