There's a huge difference between an amp and a recharge. An amp means he got stronger than he is normally, while a recharge means he just restored some of his lost power.

First of all this is not the comic book section, its the film section. Second Lois previously had talked about him getting his power from the sun. How ever you want to classify what he did, he did it because he could not perform the task under his current powers even though he still had his power. If it was just a recharge then how was the knite in his body not still affecting him? He amped over his current damage and knite to do this lift.
He needed the direct sun to accomplish the feat and over ride that knite. By his clenching his fist and feeling extra powerful and now imbued with solar energy he went and kicked some ass. Getting stronger then he had ever been in the whole movie and doing that lift was an amped lift because he never could have done it without it.

You make it sound like flew to the Sun and sundipped. The fact is he just got some clear sunlight and restored/healed somewhat. The Kryptonite was affecting him, did you miss that part where he fell back to Earth when he tossed the kryptonite island in space?

Well he utterly can't be around the knite as show from that clip I posted, even protected by his own ship and far away from it he was running for the hills. To then be stabbed by it and have it stuck in his body and have to fly to direct sunlight to power up in which he had no power left to do that lift, and not call that an amp is plain ignorance. Never in the history of film making has he sun dipped and they were not going to have him fly to the sun to dip then fly all the way back to do this when it wasn't needed because they prolly thought most people had brains to tell the difference.
