Because no, problem not solved. He's not fast enough in his mostly straight line flight to do anything to Quicksilver. Especially not just starting out, as in, he hasn't had time to build up speed which is clearly shown several times and even stated by the director that flying is an effort.

If he was going close to lightspeed he would have been able to fly around the world multiple times in a second, you've already admitted that the feat took several seconds. Which means he wasn't going anywhere near lightspeed.
