This is an inexcusable loss for Brazil. No team should lose its ability to play the game with the loss of its captain and star player. That doesn't begin to explain what happened to Julio Cesar, one of the best goalies of the tournament, who's been unreliable at best tonight.
It just goes to show how truly fragile Brazil really are. They've fallen pretty hard since their 2002 team basically all retired.
You know, I'm kind of disappointed Klose didn't score more.
What was even the point of knocking Colombia out of the competition? This is exactly what happened in the European cup where Italy beated Germany only to be stomped by Spain afterwards. At least it went to show how poorly Brazil played during the whole tourney.
And I was about to make a comment about how the matches were so damn even after the groups with random events settling most of them. Brazil just proved me wrong 😂
I saw on Belgian news that lots of German fans were leaving Brazil for fear of becoming the victim of street violence.
Another news report suggested that Brazil might go into a deeper economic recession because of this game.
Edit: Apparently by the end of the game a lot of the Brazilians still in the stadium were cheering for Germany. At least according to BBC.
