I'm noticing a trend in the Round of 16 of the favored team playing like crap in the first half and then seizing the lead in the second half and dominating. Happened in Netherlands v Mexico and France v Nigeria (both 2-0 games), and might happen in this Germany v Algeria game.
Did your hate against Mexico took away one of their goals? Netherlands and Mexico were evenly matched and a random event settled the game.
Netherlands and Germany have performed poorly in two matches out of four so far (50% ratio of full on mediocrity). Only Euro bias would place them anywhere near the finals.
Heartbreaking.
USA had so many opportunities at the end that were squandered.
At least it wasn't a total loss--Belgium is my mom's home country and all.
A few observations:
Cameron and Jones and Dempsey were all pretty lackluster.
Beasley was having a great game.
Tim Howard needs a statue, preferably in a busy part of a major city.
Klinsmann has wizard sense when it comes to unproven talent. First Brooks and now Green.

It looks like more Germans have come down with flu symptom. I'm betting that they win it all so I'm hoping its not a huge deal.
I'm hoping Colombia takes Brazil out as well.
