He used his force powers to hurt them at the beginning and they both took it but continue to fight. That's what occurred not your ridiculous speculative bs.

Khan doesn't need any force defenses just like Bane or Fett but they do just fine. They are also less than Khan based off comparative showings. Yoda doesn't have a gun does she ? Was ventress going after someone else ? The context always decimates your flimsy irrelevant points. This Sith Lord has no defense against the phaser cannon.

It doesn't matter as they both have force powers and their opponents had no force defenses. Even Windu the guy who beat Sheev was going to lose aided by a group of high ranking Jedi against fodder droids with no force defenses.
