Captain America: Civil War

Cap is the man, he's been the man for years.

I really don't understand what people have against the first Cap movie I re watched it and it's wonderful. It's a really endearing character driven story with a solid villian and great development. Sure there isn't as much action as Ultron or Winter Soldier, but the character moments are effective. The resilience of Steve Rogers when he's being beaten down in the ally by a bigger guy is my favorite Cap moment of ALL the movies.

Agree with all that plus the fact of the almost impossible task of making an old fashioned character , with a silly uniform like Cap work in a motion picture. Making a character like Cap respectable was a huge task that they nailed.

I used to find CA1 a bit on the boring side. Had a good story but fell a bit flat when it came to the action scenes. Also as a character he wasn't as instantly likeable as Tony Stark and Thor were in Marvel's Phase I.

All That being said WS and Agent Carter S1 made me go back and appreciate CA1 a lot more. It has some nice emotional beats which we're reminded of in WS, Agent Carter and now Civil War (from the trailers things like "I can do this all day"😉.

Review embargo lifts tomorrow.

Because unlike BvS, this is a good movie and Marvel wants everyone to know it.

They know it's high quality unlike DC who knew they had a rotten apple.

Well, the review Embargo for Civil War is over at 4 PM central today. So, in a little over 2 hours from this post we'll be seeing official reviews of the movie.

I'm expecting IGN to rate it somewhere between 7 and 8.5. Literally one of the only negative twitter reactions (if you call saying it was a better version of BvS a negative reaction) was from the IGN staffer that's actually reviewing the movie; Jim Vejvoda. So, while the rest of the reviews I expect to be higher, I think IGN is going to rate this lower than most sites.

We shall see though.

It'll be funny if reviewers start saying things like "Civil War is BvS done right."

Please let this happen.

Do it Mavel lords. DO IT.

7.8 on ign.

Hmm... A surprisingly low score after all the hype.

But it's still a decent score. The few other reviews I've skimmed seem to be more positive.

5/5 Cinemablend
5/5 Empire
5/5 Gamesradar
7.8/10 IGN

RT has 12 fresh / 0 rotton so far
