Captain america always the best, can't wait for it's launching

There's no reason Civil War should be happening in the MCU.

Everyone already knows Stark is Iron Man

SHIELD files are public, so everyone knows who Hulk and Cap are

Thor is an alien

???????

you guys know that there doesn't have to be someone with a secret identity to make this work.

Sure, S.H.I.E.L.D. and Tony Stark wanted someone to be the face of the Registration Act in the comic, but it isn't needed.

You can have this Registration Act simply be that the Government wants to control all of the Heroes, and tell them who the bad guys are, who they aren't, and control how they do their jobs as Heroes.

Which wouldn't sit well with Captain America.

If that's one of the directions that they could head in

a movie studio should make a movie based on Youngblood.

I know Variety is usually considered a good source for news. But I really don't like that they haven't given a quote from anyone there on top of not even mentioning who their source is (even if it's a mystery inside Marvel source, they should at least say that).

I'll believe this news when someone involved in the film confirms it.

But Tony Stark was arguing against the government in IM2. Suddenly he's a government puppet?

As of now i agree with you. I'll have to see what they do with, Avengers 2 and the other upcoming Marvel movies but right now it still feels like there needs to be a lot more established before they go down the Civil War road. Maybe after Avengers 3 they could go that route but i imagine they will rush this story line before Robert Downey Jrs and Chris Evans contracts are up. I imagine Avengers 3 will be the last time we see them in the franchise.

As of now the Avengers still haven't confirmed themselves as a group in the movies. I think there needs to be a long period of time that passes in the movie universe where the Avengers are accepted and known as a team. You could probably achieve this with a couple montages in a movie or two but there also needs to be the addition of a lot more heroes before a civil war begins.

Personally i don't think Marvel should even consider this without new contracts from RDJ and Chris Evans or at least the acquisition of the Xmen rights.

Nope, not buying it until Marvel confirms it.

Suddenly? lol cmon
Y'know, character development during 3 ****ING MOVIES between IM2 and CA3
Him feeling guilty over his creation almost destroying the world? Yeah I can see that **** him up enough to support registration, feeling heroes should be held accountable and all. After all in IM2 he referred to himself as a nuclear deterrent and then criticized fury for having a nuclear deterrent with the cube weapons in avengers.

Good point. Lots of shit could still go down in avengers 2

Civil War is too epic a storyline to be done on film. Revolves around the entire Marvel Earth with teams like Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four as well as characters like Spider-Man, Doom, and Black Panther playing key roles. It just wouldn't work.

it will once everything is rewritten to fit what they want to show

Seems likes a huge mistake to me. First off, I thought Civil War was an absolute mess but secondly I really don't see how it would work. I just don't see (movie) Tony becoming a puppet of the gov't nor do I think MCU has the universe for a film like this yet.

This whole thing seems like an attempt to go head-to-head with BvS and win.

It's especially disappointing considering how good TWS was.

Seems like it but not likely. Unlike WB, Marvel has never been reactionary in their plans. They've had such huge mega success that it wouldn't effect them one bit to let a DC film be the biggest hit 1 year. Plus they plan years in advance.

That being said it does seem a bit coincidental that the same year as BvS we're getting what's basically Cap V IM. To think both these films were supposed to come out on the same date as well! WB made the right call moving.

Also I agree this role would not be in character for Movie Tony at all. And would be a bit of a let down him being a Government Puppet.

He is Awesome .............

Don't win the war till I get there! 😎

civili war won't be the same without spiderman and the x-men.. until marvel gets all their properties in one house, they should hold off.. unless they have something equally epic to show on film, then by all means..

Civil War is a good tactic to keep comic book movies from getting stale, seeing heroes fight to the extent of Civil War hasn't been done. I had a hunch they'd do it after seeing Iron Man and Cap fight in Avengers.

I'd be worried if it's a true adaptation but I sincerely doubt it'll be the case.

Nah, having the Avengers be pissed at each other I think was always in the books. People will say "Marvel is so ahead of the curve once again!!!!" and the Cap/Iron Man/Thor imo was hinting that.
