That was the artist's rendition though. Look at the way Andrea Devito renders him while battling the X-Men.

I remember it being more than just Thing, but can't remember if it was the same issue or not. Have a specific issue reference for the X-Men thing you're referring to? Too many comics in that for me to be willing to look for it without a reference.

Well Romita sketched the WW Hulk main series, while Andrea Devito sketched the X-Men comics when the Hulk fought them. Cain was full powered, and although he drew blood, it didn't resemble anything like the hamburger faces that Romita portrayed the heroes looking like when they were hit. Look at the Sentry after he fought the Hulk, his face was mutilated. It was just the style of art that made him look all messed up.

Also Wolverine states that the Hulk's skin was hard to cut when they fought, just before the Hulk gave him brain damage. Pak wrote a Hulk that became more durable as he became stronger. As I also mentioned he continues with the idea during the Dark Dimension when the Hulk ignores the combined assaults of Arm'Cheddon, Wendigo, and Bi-Beast's attacks.

I'd need issue references. I have I think the entire WWH run, but way, way too many comics, that I'd rather just use search for the issue.

You don't remember when he fought Wolverine, and the rest of the X-Men? I don't remember offhand the exact issues, but he didn't look anywhere near as bad as he did while fighting them, as he did from one punch from the Thing. Trust me it was the artist.

I have them in TPB and no, hulk looked much better after having wolverine hack at him and Cyclops go "full blast"

his face was getting busted by Mid-Tiers like Thing punching him in the face.

Ben is just that good.

He was bleeding while Juggernaut hit him and Juggernaut was not in full gear.

He also bleed when colossus hit him on the face

I don't have those issues anymore, but I did a google search to look at the scans and yes he is getting cut with those punches

Bleeding was not as severe as with Romitta, but he was bleeding :/
