Ventress/Vos Novel 2015

Started by |King Joker|19 pages

The only way to bring down the dark side's most dangerous warrior may be for Jedi and Sith to join forces.
In the war for control of the galaxy between the armies of the dark side and the Republic, former Jedi Master turned ruthless Sith Lord Count Dooku has grown ever more brutal in his tactics. Despite the powers of the Jedi and the military prowess of their clone army, the sheer number of fatalities is taking a terrible toll. And when Dooku orders the massacre of a flotilla of helpless refugees, the Jedi Council feels it has no choice but to take drastic action: targeting the man responsible for so many war atrocities, Count Dooku himself.
But the ever-elusive Dooku is dangerous prey for even the most skilled hunter. So the Council makes the bold decision to bring both sides of the Force's power to bear—pairing brash Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos with infamous one-time Sith acolyte Asajj Ventress. Though Jedi distrust for the cunning killer who once served at Dooku's side still runs deep, Ventress's hatred for her former master runs deeper. She's more than willing to lend her copious talents as a bounty hunter—and assassin—to Vos's quest.
Together, Ventress and Vos are the best hope for eliminating Dooku—as long as the emerging feelings between them don't compromise their mission. But Ventress is determined to have her retribution and at last let go of her dark Sith past. Balancing the complicated emotions she feels for Vos with the fury of her warrior's spirit, she resolves to claim victory on all fronts—a vow that will be mercilessly tested by her deadly enemy . . . and her own doubt.[3]

I know the parts you bolded are... odd, to say the least, but did no one notice the first line?

"The only way to bring down the dark side's most dangerous warrior may be for Jedi and Sith to join forces."

I hope this means what I think it means...

I really hope this is at least a decent novel. I've heard less than flattering thing about Golden's writing ability. And needless to say, using characters like Quinlan Vos or Asajj Ventress and having them be portrayed well and accurately requires a pretty great writer.

If it was written well I would be VentressxVos would be OK, however the preview from Lords of the Sith suggest's Golden's talents as a writer leave much to be desired...

Bad romance is bad...

I haven't heard flattering things regarding Golden's writing, so I don't have high hopes. Honestly, I'm primarily going to read it just because Dooku's in it, but I don't have much faith that Golden will write a good Dooku. At least, not to the same level Sean Stewart did in Dark Rendezvous.

The idea for the romance was also really bad. If it's executed right, it could be good. Reserving my thoughts on it, however.

In interviews it's made clear that the whole conflict in Force alignment, character development side of things is tilted pretty heavily on Ventress' side. Even traits that are more important to Vos' character than hers. Not getting my hopes up for it.

I know it won't be popular, but I am really looking forward to this novel.

^ This whole mission set up by the Jedi Council adds more weight to Skywalker taking Dooku out in ROTS.

Ehi guys, did you read the first 60 pages now available on the net? What do you think? I liked this beginning and i look forward to buying it next month

She will write Ventress way better than she does Vos.

She always puts a lot more effort into female characters.
