Singe, the Lycan that caused Marcus to hybridize, was directly turned by Lucian. Lucian was the first Lycan (to be able to change to and from the wolf form). Obviously, he was genetically different than his werewolf predecessors.IMO, Marcus was changed specifically because he got the strain from Lucian indirectly via Singe.
Of course, this could have probably worked with any Lycan...because I believe all were turned by Lucian (Viktor had Lucian create tons of Lycans).
Anyway, I do not think any such special vampire exists in Underworld. This is why William probably did not turn into a hybrid knowing, full well, that he probably killed dozens of early vampires when they were trying to hunt him down.
William was a full-blown Werewolf, not a lycan.
I think the logic from this comes from the fact that Vampires are much more human-like than the Werewolves. I know that seems non sequitur but this is the reason: the Vampires appear to be more compatiable with Lycans than Werewolves. So William would not be able to hybridize when feasting on Vampires in the same way Marcus did when he was revived with Lycan blood: werewolves are too different than vamps to hybridze, readily. It takes a lycan-vampire combo to hybridize.
My source for this information: every hybrid has always been Vampire-Lycan or Lycan-Vampire. The only hybrid who is not like that is Selene. She's Vampire-Immortal hybrid...
Nope. The Uber-Lycan from the Awakening is the lycan-equivalent of Selene's type of hybrid. Also, Eve who is vampire-lycan-Immortal, not to mention the source of the Corvinus strain which was amping the Uber-Lycan in Awakening.
And Marcus clearly told his dad that he planned to turn William into a hybrid, and then together they would create a new race, neither lycan nor vampire. So this wall of text was wasted on your part.
