He flew into them, he didn't even do the typical teleport fight that is a staple of the series. 90% of his non blast offence are closelines and chokeslams.
So in other words a style over substance/stylistic portrayal over actual feats/powerscaling
Okay
Anyhow the fact that he outclassed the Z fighters in terms of speed and reactions (bullrushing them with them being unable to do a thing and dodge their attacks alot), who are easily in the Mach quads by the Frieza Saga, yeah
That and powerscaling and all that fun jazz
Oh wait, Mach 4 DBZ guiz, remember

I don't view Broly as skilled, he was literally so much physically stronger he knocked both Gohan and Trunks out by running into them.
Example: when Trunks transformed into an USSJ, he made the mistake of sacrificing speed for strength--so despite wielding raw power =/> Cell's at the time, the added musculature slowed Trunks down to such an extent that he couldn't even touch Cell. He was effectively useless:

When Goku transformed into an USSJ inside the HTC, he immediately recognized the weaknesses of this form:

That said, Broly may have been 'bulky', but he was still fast enough to effortlessly hit/dodge/shit-stomp all of the Z fighters simultaneously. Why/how? Because despite the size he gained, LSSJ didn't slow Broly down at all--it only made him faster. Furthermore, transforming into a USSJ takes a massive expenditure of energy/ki(as Goku noted), which hinders the Saiyan's stamina tremendously. As an LSSJ, Broly didn't have that weakness either--he could seemingly retain that form indefinitely, and just continue powering up as needed. Those are the benefits of the LSSJ transformation over pretty much any other form of SSJ.

The Z fighters repeatedly flew into Broly & Goku even locked arms with him for some reason...
Originally posted by pym-ftwIs it even possible to have a decrease in battle speed, but inextricably have an increase in travel speed? Seems completely contradictory to me. Regardless, USSJ Trunks' general speed WAS nerfed, and drastically so. He may have had a great deal of raw power, but he sacrificed his speed to get it--this rendered him utterly useless against Cell. On top of that, Goku also made the same observation about the form's lack of relevant speed, after transforming into an USSJ inside the HTC. In a nutshell: the transformation was complete shit.

As for LSSJ Broly's battle speed:
LSSJ>>>>>USSJ, period.
I am by no means a Broly fan, but the low-balling is getting annoying. He was fast whether you like it or not.

Well, in comics, Val Armorr somehow had Flash level combat speed, yet couldn't run anyway near as fast or use speed tricks.
And in Super, that light speedster could run, but not really beat Gohan in h2h combat speed.
