I don't believe in claiming to know what God wants and is like. God's anatomy. God's psychology. That's religion.
The Bible makes me sick.
So does having to announce that you own this person to the world with official documents.
The reason for marriage was to preserve bloodlines of the wealthy or powerful.

I find it sad other peoples differing beliefs make you sick.
I think your reason for marriage is narrow. You realise Aboriginals have a version of marriage that has nothing to do with wealth and status.

Don't the Swedish have the highest rate of STI/STDs in the whole of Europe? Ewww.
That's a misleading statistic (as are most statistics):
However, experts believe that there may be other reasons why Swedes are the most likely to seek treatment for STIs – in Sweden it is a legal requirement that people tell any past sexual partners of their diagnosis if they seek treatment.
Dr Hilary Jones, medical adviser at HealthExpress said: ‘With the stringent rules in their country, it may be we are seeing a knock on effect of Swedish people seeking treatment for STIs after they have been told by a partner they are infected.
Ignore that fact that this news piece comes from a smut site. Sometimes, Daily Mail can put out decent pieces and this one appears to be one of them.
Basically, Sweden may actually have fewer rates of STIs than other countries but, due to their legal requirements, they have a higher report rate. The numbers you're getting are the "sought medical advice on STIs." I would think that a people like the Swedes probably have a lower actual STI rate than people in big cities in the US. That's because they have a higher standard of living*, higher education*, and more liberal view of sex*
*All three of these are factors in lower STI rates.

Those are possibilities but I'd like to see it.I'm not a big proponent of marriage myself, so I wonder what polygamy has to offer.
Well peoples views on parenting differs drastically and that's not even accounting for views across different cultures. So I can't see the results being anything conclusive since every group is going to have different ideas and methods. And there is no real set way to raise a kid that works for every parent or child. Bringing in multiple people wouldn't change that

Everyone is taken, most the time. There are hundreds of thousands of better relationships they'd be in if not for a lack of effort and a devotion to monogamy.
Isn't is more greedy to have a person all to yourself?
Not to mention boring?
It's not a sin to love someone. But if you are truly in love with your spouse then you sure as hell will not be wanting to bang other people and if you got "bored" with them you would find ways to spice up your sex life that do not include bringing other people into your bedroom.
Whatever the problems, my one pet peeve is people who cheat on their spouse. There is no excuse for this. I don't care if you are bored or you feel unloved. You deal with that by talking to your partner about it. If they refuse to talk or talking does not help then you guys break up, and after you break up you can go be with someone else. But you definitely do not cheat. Even worse are the cheaters who then say they won't tell their spouse they cheated on them because they "don't want to hurt them". Which is hilarious, because they kind of should of been worried about hurting them before the whole cheating thing.
