Nanatsu no Taizai

Wow, Elaine went gothic loli! The way she kisses Ban also makes me think of Type O Negative's Bloody Kisses album. But will this be something Ban wants or will he feel like this isn't how he wanted it?

King's still being a stubborn knucklehead. Even after Meliodas literally caved in Galan's face, he's still suspicious of him.

Maybe the former until he realizes the truth behind her revival, which won't take too long to discover, I'm sure.

Not to mention the fact that they've fought alongside one another for many years already. King's acting like the child he looks like.

Elaine really went ballistic. The revival spell awakened feelings of rage deep in her soul so I can understand why she didn't hesitate to harm Ban but Jericho did have a point in asking her why she would give into that rage so easily. Also, her comments about Elaine being a 'washboard' were pretty harsh.

Merascylla's the Faith of the Ten Commandments. Wonder how this will factor into her special ability. There will be a double chapter for next time. Will Ban thrash Galan and Merascylla or is he going to be in a world of hurt?

Yeah, agreed. But damn, things took a turn really fast though. From Elaine and Ban making out to her suddenly trying to kill Jericho, to that little 'cat fight' at the end with all of the insults... damn. But you know what, her insults seemed to get a point across considering Elaine resisted the spell and ended up passing on... again.

I also wonder just what exact commandment her 'Faith' refers to. And given their current power levels, Ban has no chance unless he uses his Physical Hunt ability.

In a weird way, Jericho's embracing her feminity rather than suppressing it by boasting about her physique and talking down on Elaine's. She's also showing that one advantage humans have over fairies is that humans are physically stronger. Each race seems to have a certain advantage.

I tend to think it could be the first commandment since it's about worshipping only the Christian God. It feels weird typing that since I grew up going to a church but after I developed clinical depression, my faith fell apart. These days I don't even know what I truly believe in since one side of me wants to be an atheist while the other wants me to have faith in something.

Agreed. Interesting to see how both her femininity and humanity's own traits show through so subtly in this chapter.

I'm of a similar mind; grew up Catholic, but got bored of the repetitive nature of the ceremonys each Sunday. Not remotely sold on what most Catholics believe, but even then I like to think that there is a God of some kind.

...That said, both new chapters are posted and it looks like the Faith commandment might even be more OP than Galan's in a way given its apparent range and effect.

She's becoming a more likeable character ever since the battle with Hendricksen.
I wanted her to go away before but she started to develop as a better person.

Same here. While I wasn't Catholic, I found church to be mind numbing since they kept feeding us the same "Don't do this, don't do that" viewpoints over and over again. The strange reality of the Bible Belt is that Christianity is just a veil people wear to feel like they are morally superior even if they don't practice any of the tenets. I've seen so many people claim to be Christian when they really care more about the Friday night football game than they do about church and engage in vices as much as they want. It's only when something clashes with their paradigm that they'll start acting like they are 'true Christians'.

It's scary how it works in that it burns out your eyes if your faith falters. Galan's commandment really only works through CIS or ignorance. Ban's resolve, however, is pretty strong and it looks like Elaine's is as well since she's still alive.
Unfortunately, Ban wasn't immune to having his soul pushed out of his body. The title for the next chapter also isn't encouraging.

Indeed. Her current personality is a big far cry from when she was introduced.

Big time, yeah. Kind of like with the whole 'no gay marriage' thing many people had going on, claiming it was against their Christian/Catholic/etc. beliefs when they themselves have been married like 3 times, do drugs, etc.

Agreed. And if your faith wavers even a bit, boom, eyes gone. Even then, Galan's commandment is kind of overpowered, because even if you know of it, if he can trick you into lying (asking a very personal question that you wouldn't dare answer truthfully before him and your friends for example), it'd still work. Even lying to yourself doesn't work, considering Galan himself isn't exempt to it.

I think that there is a chance he can survive, but Elaine will truly die instead, hence the title.

What a twist! Galan ate Zhivago's soul instead of Ban's. Unfortunately, that means Zhivago is doomed to oblivion and he'll never see his real son in the afterlife. Even though Ban didn't want that to happen, Zhivago felt it would atone himself for not saving Ban back then.

Ban can't kill Galan and Merascylla but using Fox Hunt to pull out their hearts and slashing them certainly delayed them. Unfortunately, his body got pushed to the limit after taking on all that power into himself. I hope maybe Jericho will find some new found power running from Galan and Merascylla while hefting Ban and Elaine.

Indeed. But in hindsight, makes perfect sense since it'd only be natural for Zhivago to die with some regrets. And in sacrificing himself like this, he just became one of my favorite NnT characters.

Had he enough time and will to rip out the other four hearts each of them have, he could've won, especially since with his Snatch ability, he doesn't have to rely on sheer physical might to do the deed. But yeah, I hope so too.

Escanor is back! Looks like Galan might become a punching bag for the sins a third time.

Or he might end up in the scrapyard since Meliodas claims Escanor is stronger than he is. I wonder if Merlin had a hand in the name "My Sweet Gluttony" or if Escanor named the bar in honor of her?

Suzuki had a manga about golf called Rising Impact; I never actually read it since I don't know Japanese but I saw it on Baka Manga Updates under his name. Seeing Galan whack those boulders like giant golf balls made that come to mind. Jericho's also improved since she took on one of those boulders and slashed it up.

That could happen too if Escanor's MAX power level is much higher than Meliodas' restored power. Probably, probably not. As shown in the Vampire chapters, he seems to do these sort of things of his own accord.

Ah, that'd explain Galan's actions then. I never knew that. She sure did, which is made more impressive by the fact that she's lost a great deal of power due to Ban freeing her of the demon blood influence.

Fourth, if you count the giant leader what's her face. Wasn't really a fight, and she ambushed them, but her power level looked Commandment worthy.

Galan has the worst luck of anyone in manga. Vegeta at least had an entire arc to be a baddass, but Galan gets one shining moment, and that's really it.

He went into villain decay so fast, they should put his picture up on the TV Tropes page.

lol, Galan's such a loser. 😂

He bit off way more than he could chew facing Escanor. Merascylla did point out his reckless behavior and the four armed Commandment warned him about violating his precept so his fate was pretty much foretold. His full power form was still pretty cool. He took on aspects from both Zarbon and Dodoria which isn't surprising since Suzuki himself is a fan of Dragon Ball.

Matrona, the giant leader, is indeed strong. Merlin even stated her power was comparable to the Commandments when she stepped in to saved Diane.

cdtm: agreed. It's genuinely shocking just how fast Galan went from legit threat to fodder, though to be fair to the guy, in the 'fight' against Meliodas, he still didn't have his magic power available to him, which would've changed things a bit. As for Escanor though... well, even if he had all of his magic power back, I doubt much would've changed.

Markness: I was thinking the same as well.

Facing Escanor was basically an impossible situation, true.

But how he went out was just pathetic. It's no HunterXHunter Uvo vs Kurapika moment, that's for sure.

Now THERE was a character that went out like a champ, instead of a chump. Maybe the best death an overmatched villain could have had.

Maybe, but it is ultimately fitting that he'd go out by invoking his own curse, a mark of his hubris.

Matrona's trying to keep Diane away from battle but it doesn't look like it will last with the octololi hosting a new tournament. Also, doesn't it look like Dolor has four arms in the flashback? Could he be the four armed Commandment?

Since the blue demons have bird-like physiology, they can be seen as oversized Prinnies from the Disgaea games.
