what if america abstains from intervention and this does nothing to impede the growth of the islamic state? what is our plan then? if your stance is that it is their business and basically up to them if they want to have an insane theocratic dictatorship, then i guess doing nothing is the reasonable approach.

but if you want to maintain that our goal should be to try to prevent that from happening then i think you have to give a better argument for why you think a lack of american military intervention would actually lead to the end of isis.

The US should send ground troops back to Iraq, now that there is a legitimate threat waiting to explode to a worldwide scale.

They've already promised over 3,000 troops.
