War on ISIS

Kurdish forces suspect Turkey aiding ISIS in Kobane.

Things aren't looking good.
The Turkish flag was just pulled down by ISIS in the border of Kobane.

Obama is more concerned about Cuba and his upcoming 2 week vacation then Iraq.

Syria is doomed.

ISIS is probably after al-Assad's head now, if not yet.

It would be interesting to see ISIS go after the warlords in Africa and take over the whole country. No one else cares anymore anyways. Certainly not Obama.

Sorry to interrupt you guys's doom-mongering, but the good news that comes out of a bad situation tends to get under-reported--it's less sensational and attention-worthy.

To wit, the Kurds have just scored a huge victory over IS.

Interesting

Just watched what is possibly the most brutal, sadistic video I have ever seen. Ever.

A man was killed by an ISIL member by getting numerous stabs in the head with a bayonet.
It's worse than that chainsaw beheading, or that 3-boys-1-hammer murder.

So Canadian troops have had a firefight with ISIS in Iraq. No reported casualties, but this probably isn't the last time Western advisors will be in combat with the fluid nature of the battlefield.

'Oh man, if Canada wins the war on terror Obama is going to look so bad'

Obama shouldn't have sent the troops back home too early.

What we need is a real life iron man to send them back to the stone age. These people only know fighting and their not afraid to die for their country and faith. It's a scary thought but we need to build a greater line of defence for our American troops. Were are we on robots?

The military budget has been slashed.

That says a lot. A country as powerful as the united states can't support (fund) its troops. What are they waiting for? Truth is they could fund our troops but would rather keep the money in their pockets and that's why China is now the strongest in the economic stand point. I am ashamed and scared to think that those nut bags will do anything for their god who tells them its okay to die.

Our budget is still about 5 times the size of China's. Some estimates suggest that it won't be until the middle of the century before China's budget overtakes ours, if it does at all. And even then, budget isn't everything. Saudi Arabia's military budget makes Israel's look small, but in a war they'd be pretty evenly matched--Israel would probably win.

Plan kickass

imagine canada doing that "sorry but you have been killing people so we gonna put you in the timeout chair"

Well now apparently IsIs is broke and needs money from the Japanese government but Japan is like we don't negotiate with terrorist...$200 million ha, ISIS is crazy stupid if he thinks Japan is going to payout for 2 people.

I think the $200 million is a symbolic amount. It's equal to the amount of money Japan has offered to help refugees of the conflict.

And ISIS isn't by any means broke. Even with its oil production crippled it still probably makes hundreds of thousands of dollars a day.

ISIS has apparently been kicked out of Kobane completely. Go Kurds.

Unfortunately, they control more territory in Iraq and Syria than they did when the American bombing campaign began. Pesky guys.

Kobane is but a small town.
This victory is not as significant as the media portays it to be.

Islamic State still controls the majority of Iraq and Syria, with rumors of extended control in some parts of Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Yemen, and Africa.
