Again, becoming nations won't make them become suddenly peaceful. What they need is a credible government and steady economic growth with access to technology and health.

The nations that was made by the colonialist countries, didn't exactly help defuse the situation though. The good thing I see in Africa atm. is that the countries (to some degree) is willing to assist each other in ensuring relative stability in regards to national security, because each country has come to realise that further destabilizing, will in the end just come to bite them.
