Question for Muslims

i think you have me confused with someone else. i've never identified as a libertarian. i'm apathetic towards american politics in general but if i had my way we would have something close to a socialist dictatorship but with an in built mechanism for weeding out overbearing despots.

You were espousing Ron Paul's political ideologies and even endorsing Ron Paul in another thread.

This is where I got the, "He, at least partially, identifies as 'libertarian...'" idea, from.

Someone could say the same of me even though I do not identify as libertarian.

oh, i forgot i made that thread here. that was a while ago. i used to admire ron paul but i only did so because he was the only fringe politician with even a remote chance at success. i was never on board with his economic policies. i used to admire him mostly for his anti-imperial foreign policy... nowadays i don't even agree with him there. my views are always changing.

I still agree with Ron Paul's foreign policies. I agree with many or even most of his economic ones, too. Since I have a very liberal on social policies, obviously, his personal liberty positions work very well or me.

We should either start a "Political Positions of KMC Members" thread or find the appropriate thread to talk about those things. I think I made a thread like that, a while back. Basically, I started a thread in the GDF that uses that one website that determines your political positions based on lots of questions you can answer. The questions are quite nuanced, at times, so they often catch even very specific positions on policies. However, many times, they are not nuanced and you cannot select any answer.

I identify bits form the Democratic Party, GOP, Green Party, Libertarian Party (the one with the website www.lp.com), and the GOP. I think I used to agree more with the GOP than the Democratic party but that is like the difference between agreeing with one at 35% and the other at 33% (which means a majorly disagree with both of them).

You should go to the site "I Side With" and take their test. Don't forgot to mark how important each topic is for you. And don't forget to expand your choices and answer more questions for each area. I recommend you answer every question possible. I don't really agree with any party out there at 90% and some of those options have no perfectly correct answer.

this is what i got

but i don't vote really cause to me most democratic politicians say they support that kind of stuff but they don't live up to it.

Where did you take that test?

Wow! You're almost a textbook American Democrat. I've never seen or heard of someone having a 95% for Dems. I definitely haven't seen someone at 95% for Green Party, either. Lastly, I have no idea how you got 95% for both Dems and Green Party: some of their positions/policies are directly at odds with each other.

yea i don't know either. i think tests like that are pretty limited in terms of accurately identifying someone's overall position but i will say that was one of the better ones i've taken because it gives you more options. i don't really follow what each party believes tbh. i think every issue should be taken on a case by case basis. adopting a party seems like adopting a religion or an ideology and strapping yourself with some baggage that you might not like just to get some of the shit you would like.

nothing google or a few books can tell me that I have not experienced.

Wow, that may be the single dumbest thing I ever read on kmc... and I've read posts from carver.

Well done for raising the bar.

I think he was trying to say that he has first hand experience in the matter.

I think that's exactly what he was saying, which is why it's so incredibly closed minded.

I went to McDonald's, I know everything about the USA... And everything about food.

😬

Personal experience is great, but it's only a tiny facet of the big picture.

Do you really think he was being that absolute, or was he just making a point?

Honestly? it seemed like he was saying that his limited experience in the few Muslim areas he has visited has given him absolute knowledge of how all Muslims think and act.

Do tell me of your vast experience in this area scooby doo.

So you stand by your comment? That you know as much/more about Muslims than can be found out via Google?

If you have never seen water and just read about it on google. Could you convince someone who has seen it that you know more about it cause you read about it on the internet? Thats the problem with google, everything thinks cause they read something on the internet, makes them a expert witness.

Look at it this way. Would you judge all black people to be the same because you went to one very poor and very dangerous black ghetto and had some bad experiences?

Let's not do this again bro, we know Im talking about extremists.

Okay then

That's cool, extremists are.... extreme.

As long as we don't use their example to paint an entire race, group or religion. It's all good.

😄
