New 'Secret Wars' is Marvel Comics' major event of 2015

They're ending Thor already?

What's the point?

The book was all about establishing the new Thor, and they're not going to run with it?

That's just ****ing stupid

of that list Igniz posted i've been mainly getting

Guardians 3000
Iron Fist: The Living Weapon
Superior Iron Man
Thor
Wolverines

i knew Iron Fist was ending since the writer aimed for a 12-part series.

Wow Iron Man also??

Yeah....so much for all that Axis stuff then.

Thanks. I needed a good laugh and this really cracked me up.

Leo claims to have me on ignore the den of cowardice. I bet he is homeless too and logs in at a public library that does not have a caps button. The mystery of the cap less wonder has finally been solved.

Any updates for SW?

Secret Wars #4 cover.

Doom on one side and the Beyonder on the other.

Based on the face pattern at play there, my guess is Doom absorbed Molecule Man's power.

Well, it looks like the Thor book's suffered a pretty severe sales drop... That might be it I suppose.

Huh? It's been selling incredibly well. Consistently around 70k and significantly more than God of Thunder was selling. I assume it's only "cancelled" temporarily and will continue once Secret Wars ends.

It started at 150k though, so it's about the biggest drop a Thor comic's seen.

Like you say though, they might continue it after.

Issue 1's almost always sell a shit ton more then the rest. Especially ones that were as highly publicized as Thor #1. No way in hell would they axe the Thor book because of sales when it was consistently selling 70k an issue.

Mainly to bump sales in the short term

Consistently? It's been a steady drop.

Thor under JMS started out under similar numbers and kept a steady 100k, and it didn't follow a cheap PR stunt to boost sales.

I'd be surprised if Marvel's satisfied with these numbers when you've got Thor getting added Pr from movies as well.

No it hasn't. Issue 5 actually sold like a hundred more then 4.

If Marvel is disappointed by these numbers they are stupid as hell. They are considerably higher then IM, CA, and hell even the most recent Thor comic.

That's ****ing awesome 😂

Ha. King Thor did ask Thor what era he came from and mentioned if he had yet moved to the Sun to become a cosmic god cop way back in Thor God of Thunder #7.

Should be fun.

That's because the most recent Thor comics sold poorly.

But even Aaron's God of Thunder didn't suffer as steep a decline as the new one.

And like I said, it wasn't announced worldwide in a PR stunt, it almost came out of nowhere.

I remember that, but thought it was just going to be brushed off as a little comment. Glad I was wrong, this sounds awesome.

Old King Thor remembering it as something that happened doesn't make sense.

This event is supposed to be a once in a Marvel Event happening at the same time across all timelines. This never happened before in the Marvel multiverse.

^ I think Hickman isn't holding to the typical linear progression of time. Kang, Immortus and Iron Lad apparently have seen the end of the Multiverse as they exist in Limbo and I think Adult Franklin explained that he lived through it all. Doesn't make much sense but, y'know, plot.
