I have no doubt that Ultimate Reed will play a significant role in things to come. Him randomly popping up and aiding The Cabal, as well as being featured on the cover of
Secret Wars #3, is indicative of a much larger future plot involving him, imo. Also(and this is something most people usually forget, and/or simply do not know), Hickman is who wrote the very first arc of
Ultimate Comics: The Ultimates--which is the arc that reintroduced Ultimate Reed in his highly evolved 'Maker' persona... So he obviously likes the character quite a bit(which is good for us Ult. Reed fans, lol.) So yeah, I completely agree that a proverbial 'battle of the minds' between The Maker and The Great Destroyer would be unbelievably epic. If that comes into fruition, I'll be stoked beyond measure. droolio
What has me the most interested in this event, though, is Hickman's comment from a few months back:
"Hickman says: "if you read Secret Wars and you've been reading not just Avengers, but Fantastic Four, SHIELD and all the other stuff I've done, there's so much stuff in there, payoff-wise, if you've been reading those books, that it's kind of scary. It's definitely the culmination of everything I've done at Marvel.""

...I have thoroughly enjoyed most of his works in Marvel so far(particularly the [unfinished] S.H.I.E.L.D. and Fantastic Four/FF), so if Secret Wars is supposed to tie ALL of his material together, it *should* be epic... But only time will tell.
