Again with the box office numbers. To hell if the movie was any good or not. I'm going to go see it Wednesday with low expectations. I'm just really hoping that its somewhat better than BvS, but that shouldnt be hard.I dont know, but rooting for mediocre movies to succeed is a troubling trend.

yep Suicide Squad looks to be another failure.. i expect more changes in the near future... 2nd weekend drop appears likely and possibly on par with that peice of shit known as Bats V Supes...http://deadline.com/2016/08/weekend-box-office-suicide-squad-sausage-party-petes-dragon-1201802677/
"Piece of shit"? Really? You say that like it's Elektra or Catwoman level, when it's not. It's better than that.

All matter of opinion. Everyone who I know (except for one) loved the movie, which is why it over performed this week. It had better holds than CW or BVS.

I may have to bring that name back since Golgo is constanly in denial...

Only good things were Batfleck and Diana's action scenes, everything else sucked.. same with Suicide Squad, other person to rot for was Harley, everyone else was horrible.... WB cannot keep this up, but since they and Golgo want Michael Bay quality then they should hire him. hahahahaahahahahaha

I do not recall CW fall nearly 69% in its second weekend..
as a mater of fact.. here is Civil Wars chart....

here is the great Bats V Supes chart...
http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?page=weekend&id=superman2015.htm
notice the diferernce in the 2nd week... CW had the normal drop off at 59% while Bats V Supes tied with XM Origins: Wolverine since since both films fell 69% in its 2nd weekend. once again ALL movie studios know this, including your precious WB... It doesn't matter what a film opens to,.. that doesn't determine a film's success nor longevity. What will always matter despite your say so is how a film performs each week.. Remember Titanic didn't open big, yet constantly made money each week and barely dropped off...

BvS having redeemable scenes at all, puts it above the "utter shit" category, imo.
Disagree about SS.

Animation (Secret Life of Pets, Zootopia, etc...) Jungle Book had good legs, too.
Kids movies do tend to draw a different kind of audience, so it's not surprising. Sure, adults see them too, but parents tend to be more discerning about when to bring a child to the movies. That and the whole "let's wait until it's piss cheap on a Saturday morning" thing.

Pretty much. Despite the 60 something drop this weekend, it's still respectable, considering the good holds Suicide Squad had the past 4 days.

Of course. I think you're being unusually harsh, but that's me.
being harsh must be done...

Civil War fell almost 60% in its 2nd weekend? That's shitty for such a critically acclaimed film.
when I film falls 50% to 60% in its 2nd week, that is normal and the standard.. when a film falls upwards to 69% like people's precious Bats V Supes then that is a problem...

CW had weak legs. Both BVS and CW were highly frontloaded, BVS more so, so I'd expect SS will do the same. And it looks like my prediction for weekend was close. 🙂
lmao at CW having weak legs espeically since it made over $1 billion dollars.. heck tell me do you see Disney/Marvel firing people because Civil War didn;t make any money??? tell me , is Disney/Marvel panicking since Civi War is a huge major success???

Civil War's domestic OW was 179million. It's total domestic gross was 407million. That's a multiplier of 407/179= 2.27.
BvS's domestic OW was 166milion. It's total domestic gross was $330million. That's a multiplier of 330/166= 1.99.
Clearly CW had the superior legs, but neither exactly had great legs. That said you're right that no studio will be complaining when their film grosses $1billion+. Not even a Star Wars film.
