I thought the characters were the best part and that he got everyone down pat. But to each their own.
He got a few of them right, but for example Harley? She was schizophrenic in how she went from being just like Harley to being not at all like her.
He was close on a few of them, but he missed the mark as much as he succeeded, imo.

Harley was one of the best from the group, IMO. Reading the current series from DC, it's pretty much spot on.
TBH, even if it was spot on, and I don't think it was, I wouldn't consider that a good thing. Harley's character hasn't exactly flourished since the reboot.
Just my opinion though.
From what I have read, the executives at Warner are the real problem with this movie...
They forced reshoots and changes to the movie; in essence, Suicide Squad is not the movie the director and writer initially intended...
The big wigs need to stay the hell out of the directing business as far as I can see...

No shit Sherlock. But it's not that big considering the negativity the DC films have to overcome.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious. Either way, SS is still a win and will be profitable in the long run. 750 to break even. 😂
You guys need to stop being so touchy on the subject matter. Especially given I'm one of the few people here who enjoyed the film.
A 74% drop is not the same as a 79% drop period. And it's far more impressive to only have a 74% drop when you're starting figures are Much Higher than the film with the 79% drop.
Not even worth a comparison tbh.
The more relevant example is how SS's 2nd weekend might turn out below GOTG's 2nd weekend, even though SS had a massively larger 1st weekend. And almost everyone is predicting SS won't make the total domestic gross that GOTG did.
That's the difference between a "new property" that's Universally Loved, and one that's Merely Liked and/or had a Mixed Reception.

Katana is supposedly this dispenser of Justice voluntarily working with Flag. Yet when Flag and the army head off to go battle she goes and has a drink with the villains. The same ones she asked if she could kill when she first met them.
Harley went from being Harley to to be a forced prop at times.
Boomerang literally abandons the team and then immediately returns next scene to fall in line. Even though everything about his character up to that point was him being okay leaving everyone behind.
Croc??? Croc was a mess of a character that got few lines of dialogue. He was this outcast with a hatred for everyone but then all of a sudden he becomes like the big brother of the group.
Deadshot was good but it was essentially Will Smith playing himself which worked for the most part.
I don't know enough about Enchantress or Diablo to say one way or the other.
I main point is though is the characters changed so drastically so suddenly from one scene/chapter to the next scene/chapter to the next that these characters became a jumbled mess a lot like this movie.
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but did anyone else feel that Rick Flag really sucked in this movie? He's supposed to be some elite Special Forces badass,
Spoiler:Probably unnecessary to add the spoiler tags, but rather safe than sorry.
but a crazy chick with a baseball bat, and a drunk guy with a pair of boomerangs (which he only threw like 3 f****** times in the whole movie) came across as WAY more capable than him. His role seemed to be little more than pining after Enchantress (or at least the human host), and threatening the Squad members.

67% drop from last weekend. If we insist on comparing to Civil War, that only had a 59% 2nd weekend drop.
Still, could be worse. Could be 69% like BvS. And at least it had a decent hold during the week.
just always remember that a 50%-60% drop in a films 2nd week is normal ...

That was predicted, especially with the good holds Monday through Thursday. Should still hit 300, but no more than that.

Wow, I didn't get that at all. Boomerang was spot on. Katana was exactly like the comics. Always talking to her husband in the sword. Harley was quite similar to what Palmiotti is currently doing in his book, Deadshot was good, and the whole plot reminded me of justice League dark recently with enchantress going rogue.
I agree some characters got left out and were underused.
