And the team came out before GOTG, so it's not really copying anything.
But that's basically how all of this looks. Most DC heroes and teams were made first and Marvel "copied" them; but Marvel set up their shared movie universe first and it looks as tho DC is copying them now. And I don't mean like they are coping their tactics of a shared universe. I mean it looks to the layman that DC is copying characters and teams. Most of the general public aren't aware that GotG came after the Squad or that the Avengers came after the Justice League, or that Flash came before Quicksilver(not MCU but again the general public doesn't know the difference between Marvel and Fox) and the list goes on.
It's funny how the tables have turned so to speak

We don't really know the specifics to the plot. Suicide Squad is all about going into suicide missions and that's what's happening here. We don't know the Joker's involvement, we don't know who the real villain is, we don't know why each individual squad members are doing what they're doing, we don't know the outcome, etc... There is a lot we don't know, so I don't think it's fair to say SS is copying GOTG. These are straight up villains.
The "layman" isn't looking at it like that. This isn't like GOTG because these aren't heroes. They're very much villlsins who just happen to be going after even worse villains.
Also, bad guys do good has been a movie staple since the Dirty Dozen. No, wait, actually the Seven Samurai. This isn't new by any stretch.

Pretty much. GOTG didn't do anything new. SS is a bunch of villains, not heroes. I don't see the similarities, TBH and we have yet to see the movie, so...

So you dont see the similarities in the marketing tactic in the trailer to what GOTG used?
Im not using the word "copy" here, im saying similar marketing tactics.
I'm not talking about marketing, but the actual film. Both films aren't the first ones to include a song in the trailer.

Personally I don't think these two movies are similar at all. Just trying to explain why some may think it's "copying" GotG when it really isn't.

I don't think it's copying GOTG at all, actually.
Let me clarify: They'll be similar in terms of taking realtive unkown characters and introducing them in a fun, adventure/action packed film that will resonate with the general audience/public. This looks like a lot of FUN, just like Guardians. Also, I think it will enjoy similar financial sucess.

Anyone not getting what im saying.
I can say something very simple to understand like "SS is using similar marketing tactics as GOTG".
And then you have people going totally off the fuqing main point I was trying to make.
Talking about how they are totally different movies that have nothing in common with each other, different characters, different setting, and circumstances etc etc etc.
reminds when I posted this a while back...
The shit storm that caused. lol.
I was clearly saying that they have sort of similar plots.
And then you had people raging that I was saying that both movies had EXACTLY the same plot and then listing paragraphs on how different they both were.
jesus fuking christ lol. Argue with IMDB.

I think it will be the surprise hit of the year.
