Still, if i lose my temper i cant just flood the world (goodbye middle east, back when i was deploying and doing/seeing all sorts of jacked up things). Maybe its a matter of scale...
this is another story, of course... 🙂
from the very start, God wanted everything to be good:
"And God said, Let there be light; and there was light.
And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness."
Genesis 1:3-4
and true as it was, at the end of His creations, everything was good:
"And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, a sixth day."
Genesis 1:31
that's the initial and ultimate premise: God wants everything to be good...
but things go haywire when sin entered... humans and angels used their freedom of choice to do evil...
"The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."
Genesis 6:5
God has the power to see the minds and hearts of people:
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately corrupt; who can understand it?
I the Lord search the mind and try the heart, to give to every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings."
Jeremiah 17:9-10
for me, i believe that God is justice and what He did, no matter how harsh it may seem to other people - is still justice and fair... in any case, there is no reason to complain, because the life we have earth on here is not the true life God wants to share to us... so it will all boil down to the judgment day which God appointed:
"Because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed, and of this he has given assurance to all men by raising him from the dead."
Acts 17:31
what all happened is not yet finished... there is still judgment day...

God didn't create satan... God created a good angel... satan became satan because he became so full of himself...
"How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!
For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north;
I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High."
Isaiah 14:12-14

If God is truly all powerful and all knowing it means he knew how Satan would turn out and yet still created him nonetheless. It also means he first created people knowing he'd eventually flood and murder 99.9% of them.
If he's not all knowing then he's not all powerful either, and thus not really god-like at all. At least not in the sense most Christians try to imply.

I don't care what others believe as LONG as it has zero effect on me and the way I live my life. Which is why I tend to care when you have people in power being religious. I don't want any changes in policy, laws, whatever to be influenced ONE BIT by someones religion.
....and I don't want any of those changes to be influenced ONE BIT because of anyone's lack of beliefs.
Can't please everybody.
