That's actually exactly what was shown in the comic, iirc Black Widow said he was dying.

Hydra blood gave him warrior madness-esque bump in strength in the beginning, but it was slowly killing him. His fight with Ares happened when he was weakening from the poison.

So it was mentioned that he was weakening? Him being in Warrior Madness amped him. How far was he weakened during all of this. Example...if World Breaker Hulk or Sun dip Superman were dying, I feel safe at saying their strength is still above Herald level.

Have you not read the comics?

Which scene? Was there a part that said he was weakening?

The scene in the comic that you didn't read.

Tbh, I don't really remember what happened.

I was always told Hercules was weakened.

Does anyone have a scan of this? It's obvious that if you are poisoned it will kill you. Pretty sure it was killing him when it entered his blood stream but it did not weaken him...it amped him.

I don't recall any scene where it said it amped him only made him go crazy and was killing him.

Yup. And the crazy part was unexpected. Ares wanted to kill/hurt Hercules because of their old blood feud.

Hercules was clearly dying, but I just chalk it up as a good showing for both of them. Ares didn't get completely dumpster-stomped like he was by Ikaris and Thor, and Hercules won despite bad odds 🙂

Leave it to Carver to -completely- ignore context.

Whose? CB got a respect thread now?

I'll be honest, I only really know him from the Excalibur years and boy did he have some horrifically bad showings. Since then, it seems like he's been getting more respect. Good for him.

Hell yeah he did, by none other than me.

I didn't mentioned it in the Captain Britain 101 because of the one-post text limit, but Captain Britain was depowered through almost all of Excalibur;

Also, as some may have noticed, Captain Britain was less than spectacular in early Excalibur, and more of a douche. This is because Roma puts a curse of enfeeblement on him, which reduces his strength and causes him to fail whenever he tries to act independently, from Excalibur #47:
Explained here by Merlyn
And confirmed here by Roma

Not only that, but his suit actually prevented him from fully developing and accessing his own power, confirmed by himself here in Captain Britain v2 #13:

Very nice!

That actually explains A LOT of the shenanigans that went down in that series. Seems like Brian isn't the scrub people thought he was.
