I caught myself getting annoyed with that reaction to, but then gave him the benefit of the doubt. It's a monstrous secret to keep for so long. It wasn't the "I'm the devil of Hell's Kitchen" he was pissed at. He was upset because his best friend has been lying to him since jump street. Weird as that sounds, Matt always being able to tell if you're lying or anything is really invasive.

Some of those character deaths were a little implausible, if you ask me, but I love that issue.

Although Ennis always feels compelled to write Castle triumphing at the end, he does seem to have mad respect for Daredevil. As you note, he was the last man standing in PKTMU. Also, in the previously scanned scene from Ennis's Marvel Knights run, Punisher had to use prep to even have a chance vs Daredevil one-on-one - he admitted flat out that he had no chance in a straight fight. Similarly, at the end of that series, Ennis had Punisher state that Daredevil was stronger, faster and more skilled than himself and that he couldn't win a fair fight. Punny also stated that Daredevil was more dangerous than Spider-Man or Wolverine (and of course Ennis had Daredevil completely own Wolverine in one move).
Generally that level of respect is about as much as you can hope for from Ennis. He certainly treats DD with a lot more dignity than, say, Wolverine...

New showrunners? That's disappointing. I really enjoy Steven DeKnight's work and style. Hope the new guys are no downgrade.
I finally finished the first season. Great show. Not amazing, great.
I feel that some things in the show fall a bit flat. For example, Kingpin's "busting out of custody" scene could have been done much better. It was still very satisfying. But it was too much of a buildup to end up in a scene like that. After he killed Urich in a monstrously delicious fit of rage, I expected two heaping scoops of satanic atrocities when he gets his freedom back. The music could have been better as he's walking from the cars, too: seemed to not really fit the scene as well as it could have (music, in those types of scenes, is like 30% of the "feel"😉.
Also, why couldn't DD just WTF Pwn Kingpin in their fight? DD is constantly getting the beat down. For just once, DD needed a curbstomp victory against a heavy hitter especially after the beatdown he took from Nogu.
Also, I did not come into this thread until I watched the entire show. If you don't want spoilers, don't come into this thread. 😐

I am okay with Karen's character. But she needs to get with Foggy. uhuh Not sure why you guys hate her so much. She's not great but she's not bad, either.
Nogu was a character I liked. I didn't like him until his fight with Daredevil. He felt like a classic, honorable, Samurai. Probably the only bad-guy who was fair, honorable, and honest. Someone I can respect. Gao? Ho Lee Sheet: she makes me think she's better than King Pin.
