Gao. Is she some sort of alien or otherworldly entity like a demon?

Crane Mother is the rumor. She works with/for Steel Serpent. But I don't know why she was serving under Kingpin...

She'd be from the "Cities of Heaven." That's probably what she meant by much further away.

Well her name isn't Madame Gao in the comics, that's specific to the show. It's suspected she's the character "Crane Mother."

She essentially trains Iron Fists main rival, Steel Serpent. It's HIS logo that's on the drugs.

Was great. Glad they are making another season 👆

My few issues with this show....

1. When Netflix does a show like this and Marco Polo - they release every episode at once then there's nothing to look forward too, it's all done, you've seen the whole season and now have to wait a long time for season.

2. There is something missing, like more hooks, cliff hangers, drama or whatever it is to keep me interested watching ep be ep. Unlike other shows that want you to come back every week to watch.

3.Vincent's KP was lame and no where as good as MCD's KP.

4. The Mask, it was just bad... it looked like someone sat on it before putting it on Charlie, everything was too small.

The good things...

The cinematography was really good, dark, good action, acting, just wrong actor for KP.

If having it all released at once is a problem, why not just pace yourself?

Yeah, I should have done that.... There is still the other issues, oh well....

You're the first person I've seen on the interwebz that didn't like D'Onofrio 's King Pin.

I was okay with it. It wasn't great, wasn't bad, either. I wanted a more arrogant depiction of King Pin, however. Think "overly educated and well spoken professor that knows he's smart." That type of character contrasted with the occasional and completely illogical rage would make a much better King Pin.

Insight or thoughts?

Well this was basically Kingpin's origin story. For most of it he's extremely cautious and acts in the shadows. Now that he's outed and accepted that he's "evil" he'll be more villainous.

I also disagree quite strongly. The "well-spoken muscleman" has been done quite a bit. I liked how he was pretty subdued, polite and shy. Childlike, as you see when he looks at himself in the mirror. I prefer that contrasted to his homicidal outbursts and I think it would have been less interesting if he was just some arrogant prick putting on a cultured air to hide that he's just a full-of-shit psycho. I thought Kingpins mentality and backstory were very nuanced and interesting myself. Moreso than Daredevils.

That's better. That's what I wanted. I just didn't word it properly.

Something akin to Hannibal Lector but with 10x more rage and 5x more arrogance.

KP is smart/intelligent, arrogant, knows when to do something and when not to, he can control his rage or unleash it (self control), he's brutal, big, strong, good fighter, fast for his size, he should have a persona that vibes off of him of all of this. I think of KP as a bigger, smarter, better fighter, more rage, etc... version of Tony Soprano.

Vincent wasn't this in any area. Fat belly, skinny legs and arms, his voice wasn't strong unlike MCD, His persona sucked, everything just did. Imo Tony Soprano was a better KP, at least he's done some things right that shows KP's character some justice.

MDC > Vincent

Are you familiar with Frank Miller's Daredevil run with Klaus Janson?

I don't think it's possible to be 5x as arrogant as Hannibal and survive. It would manifest physically and burst out of your chest. He's already pushing the limits of humanity tbh.

No, I'm thinking more along the lines of Streets of Poison

I didn't like Kingpin either.
