Well Carnage is only a rumor, take with a grain of salt.

I hope it doesn't end up having too many villains.

How many are rumoured to appear? Kingpin, Osborn, Vulture, now Carnage...?

Kingpin's been debunked by the actor. I doubt Carange is in this as Carnage, or Green Goblin. They'll definitely want to give GG a break for a while before using him again.

I'd rather just leave Osborn out of it completely. Enough is enough.

Spider-Man has a great rogue gallery, plenty of villains that deserve to have live-action versions.

Im all for Carnage.

Hoping for Venom in the upcoming movies...

Taking cues from Force Awakens, I think it's a fair assumption that Disney is going to go out of its way to avoid using any failed material/plot-points from the prior movies, just like how they kind of disowned the prequel trilogy.

Any villains that were in the ASM series or SM3 are likely a no-go- at least for the first few movies.

IMO, the only true villain will be Vulture, everyone else might just be a tease for future sequels. Highly doubt Marvel will have every villain known to man to fight Spidey in the first film

Also, I'm fairly certain that Marvel mght not even do Osborn this time around.

Rumors are still going around that Venom is going to get made, however the last I read was that the Venom solo outing won't be Spidey/Marvel related...

I'm sure they won't end up doing that see as how stupid it would be to do Venom without Spider-Man.

It might actually be really cool to do a Venom without Spider-Man. We're not really getting a Spider-Man origin story this time around, so a venom origin story is similar to that but flipped on its head. Just like a hero's origin but for a villain. Also it'd be cool to see the villain win at the end for once.

I may have the old info, but doesn't Sony want to do their own Venom movie? Separated from MCU?

While we do deserve properly done symbiotes, it may work out for the best to avoid them altogether --- there are many other characters that deserve a big screen appearance.

knowing Sony they prolly still will even though its a dumb idea... best thing to do anyway is have Marvel completely and totally involved

Yes, but they don't want to admit defeat.

Meh phuck Sony.

Now that Marvel has the rights to Spider-Man.

I see them doing a better Venom.

It's... not that simple. They have a deal and it's somewhat complicated.

It's quite a simple actually. Sony are letting Marvel take control to make them money.

It will work as long as Sony makes money from it and people love this new Spider-Man. However if Sony feels Marvel have screwed up the perception and box office potential of the new Spidey, or if something just goes wrong and Marvel/Sony start diverting the blame to each other, then the whole deal would be in danger.

They still have some control, though. That's why we still might get that freakin' Venom movie.

🙁

Pretty sure part of the deal requires any movie that Sony puts out with Spiderman is tied to the MCU so if a Venom movie doesn't mix well then couldn't Disney just reject the idea.

👆 The Spider-Man franchise is now part of the mcu, not just the character.

Not if its not part of the MCU. That means Marvel have told them "get lost. We're not having that in OUR Universe.."

No, because the upcoming Spider-Man animated movie has nothing to do with Marvel IIRC. That's just Sony making some extra profit independent of their Marvel deal.

Only the stuff that happens within the MCU is under Marvel's control (as far as I understand it).

Mando is official.
