Uggh... pretty much the only reason that idiot survived was to have the tag team showdown against one of the Savages during the finale. At least those two are gone now. The Hawk pair were my least favourite characters. And they did kind of already show that it was possible to go at least meet another incarnation of Snart, when Mick goes to talk to a version of him after they finish with Savage.
Yeah, instead we're faced with probable future cameos across the various CW DCU shows.
As to Cold's possible return, this is what a showrunner, Marc Guggenheim, said about him, before the season 1 finale already actually:
"…I would also say that he’s not off the show. You’ll still see him next season. In fact, check out the season finale."
So based on that, it does seem like they might be going with the "recruit a slightly earlier/younger Cold" thing I suggested earlier.

I think the writers almost sensed that nobody liked the hawks. That is why they had them leave. Rip Hunter should of done us all a mercy and let Savage murder them one final time before taking him down. At least give us a few decades free from them.
Teaser for season 2. Mostly season 1 footage, but it has some new stuff thrown in. I'm curious to see what role Darhk is going to play here. They hinted at some of his pre-Arrow activities during the first season, so maybe we will get to see more.
I felt this show ended strongly, despite having a bit of a shaky start, so I am actually quite interested to see where season 2 goes. And who doesn't love watching Nazis get punched.

Snart is filming Prison Break 😄 but I'd imagine they'd want to save some things for another trailer as the season approves
