Was Satan wrong to demand equal rights in heaven?

Yes the bible blames everything on satan, but all that evil was done by humans.

I read it a long time ago. There’s a lot of good stuff in there, and a lot of really bad stuff.

No. I think he was made that way.

What an evil thing. No one should believe in a war god anymore.

But the god of the bible is supposed to be omnipotent and all knowing. I guess god didn’t know that.

I hope for my children to not only be equal with me, but to surpass me in everything. What parent would not?

Your attempt is to try to twist my words. if you read the Bible the way that you read what I wrote, it's no wonder you've gotten so much wrong. I never said anything about a War God. I said that there was a war in Heaven.

Yes he was that way. A spoiled, and corrupt creature.

What does the Bible blaming Lucifer for everything have to do with the OP of this thread?

God is all knowing but he still gave his creations the will to choose. It's not as if people have not thought of doing bad things, only to turn around and change paths.

What does hoping that your children should surpass you have to do with the rules that you set for your house? Will you also give your children free reign over your property, even if they mean to burn it to the ground out of jealousy, hatred, and other terrible reasons? If you want to raise your children that way, then so be it. I don't, and apparently God didn't either.

We are not talking about right or wrong. We are talking about Christian mythology.
The god of the OT is a war god.

That is illogical. And circular thinking.

Was satan a ten-year-old?

It sounds like Lucifer wanted a shot at being God. No different then back in 2008 when Obama wanted a shot at being president. Except we gave him that shot. God? Can't handle being questioned. Even though being God he should of known these beings would question him prior to even creating them. It also seemed like God gave humans "free will" but angels were much more limited, so I'd be pissed too.

Since again: nobody elected God. It is "might makes right" all over again. Remember, this is the being that feels so smugly superior to most people despite committing atrocities that put even the worst humans to shame.

If God exists he is not better then us, just more powerful. Just like we currently are more powerful then a primitive society, but it doesn't make us better people, just more advanced.

It is strange when the scriptures they post to support their claim, clearly says the opposite of what they believe.

Well the alternative is admitting their religion has all kinds of contradictions. If I was a devout Christian I'd probably be doing my damndest to interpret scripture in as flattering a light as possible. Even if it was like "on the 8th day they killed babies and drank their blood" I'd be all "WILL OF GOD!!!!!!!!!" and then I'd declare a blood war on all infants.

True, but you have been infected by logic. 😉

Prove your point if you have one. Who are they that are making claims, and what scriptures are you talking about that goes against what is posted. Show me.

Why would you allow your child to rule the house that you created, bought, built, and paid for? What right do they have to claim what is not theirs? Do you even know what you are talking about? This isn't Marvel and DC comics. Come prepared or be shut down. Are you ready?

Give me a list of these contradictions. Again, do you even know what you are talking about? If not, remain still. And not to be pedantic, but you constantly do it. It is not could of, or would of, or even should of. It is Would've, could've, or should've. Bring proof of your convictions though. Show me these contradictions, tell me what it is that you are broadly accusing millions of people of doing. If you can't your concession is accepted.

Issiah 14 : 12-14

How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!

You said in your heart, "I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.

I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High."

Also I'm not entirely sure if you didn't take Astner's words out of context? This person may have been trying to explain something completely different than what you thought that they were.

It should also be known that God treated people differently in the days of the Old Testament. Why is that? Because people were different then, than the were in the times of Christ. People changed, God didn't. The Bible states that in those days he used to wink at certain things that people did, because they lacked knowledge of who God was, and what he actually wanted from the people. What God wanted was a closer relationship with people as opposed to cattle sacrifices. These sacrifices were done to appease for their sins. This is not something that God wanted, but something that man decided to use as a tribute in order to draw closer to God.

People change very often. In fact; we are different as a people than we were just 50-200 years ago. Minorities in general just got out of slavery. Just 15-20 years ago, it became popular for people to walk around with their pants half way pulled up... etc. People change with the trends. Where in the Bible did you see God change? Please find out, because I have never seen any change taking place in God according to the Bible. Nope not once. People change.

I just read it plain and simple. However, I don’t believe that satan is real, so I don’t have all these other beliefs that Christians have. I am just amused.

I don’t know what this has to do with the topic, but you just told me that the god of the bible changed. Also, the god of the OT is not the same god as the NT. In the OT god was a war god, while in the NT god is a god of love.

1. I can't speak for Astner, he may have had more to say on the topic, and the Bible amuses you. Okay.

2. We all have our own beliefs. Doesn't mean that they are correct.

3. Your views may not be correct. That's something that you may want to think about... Or not. Show me where God changed, and/or how God is a different God from the OT to the NT. God is the same, the way God treats people is just different, but you would have to read that for yourself... Or not.

Off topic? So stop deviating from what I wrote to begin with. You had nothing to say, or any way of debunking what I wrote. Just that you didn't believe any of it. If that was the case why troll the religious forum? We get it, you don't believe. So back to what I originally wrote.

The way I see it is like this. If you the parent bought, built, own, and pay the bills for your house, why would your children be your equal within your house? Why don't you try it some time? Give your children as much power as you have over your property, and then ask yourself if that's fair, and just.

Or, would you have a murderer running around in your house with notions of corrupting your other children, and/or killing them? The choice is clear to me. If it isn't to you, perhaps you should ask others what they think. I'd throw him out on his duff.

I don't care about your opinion. Give me a quote, or quotes from the bible that canonically supports your views. If not, anything that you write is your entitled opinion. However, opinion as we all know has never meant fact.

What right do you have to create someone and then say they have to do everything you say? Please don't talk about being "shut down". There will be no shutting down dude, you need to settle down.

Also you know the thing about children is they eventually GROW UP. But God never dies, so he can never rise above him, which is what most parents WANT their kids to do.

You want to cite examples? This is like if you have a family of kids, then you go cheat and create a shitload more kids and you tell your first set of kids to basically obey you, but you let the second set run wild. Any "Father" who does that is the biggest piece of shit in the world, so what are you defending? As mass murderer? A deadbeat dad? What? God knows everything, he knew Satan would be a dick and still created the f*cker. That is all that needs to be said really.

Dude, if you have to even ask for contradictions about this religion I don't even know what to say. Just off the top of my head: they preach love for everyone, but being gay isn't okay. I know some christians tolerate it, but in the bible it is described as wrong.

You just asked me what contradictions the religion had. I mean, come on. That is like saying you are a math genius and then asking me what 1+1 is.

These people preach love and forgiveness, and then have a whole laundry list of things that if you do? Well, that love and forgiveness is gone and you deserve to die, and if you feel everything on that list is an action worthy of death..you do not know what you are talking about.

I'm not a religious scholar, I'm just going off what I learned from 12 years of this bullshit in catholic schools. No, I can't cite you specific passages because I don't care, I know what I was taught by these people.

Ah. OK now I see what you are saying. I'm sorry but i think that i misunderstood you. You are holding the bible up to the standards of the people that follow it, but you should instead be holding the people that follow the bible up to the standards written within the Bible. The Bible clearly states that God will be the final judge. The Bible also pretty much teaches us to live, and let live. What the people often do that follow the bible is add their own little spin on things, and these little spins often leave people that are looking from the outside feeling a little standoffish. The Bible says to judge, but judge fairly. About judgement. The Bible states that God will make his children the Judges of all nations, so how much more should you judge these little things. Again it states to judge fairly. We all have our short comings, but pin the blame in the proper place. You are speaking of the people, not the practice. If not i would like you to show me one spot where the Bible contradicts itself, because we will then have to cross reference it with actual canonical evidence located in the book.

There are groups of religious organizations that claim to be Christian, while only being Christ-like. They take a portion of the Bible that serves them, and add their little pieces to it, while omitting other parts of the Bible that goes against their agenda. Another thing that should be noted in the Bible, is that the Children of God did not exist historically, or canonically in the Bible until after the death of Christ. Now wait a second there.... That may seem to contradict the idea of the Son's of God, but it doesn't. The Son's of God were the Angels, and were not human. While the Children of God were human.

You may be wondering why the people before the death of Christ (Old Testament) were not considered to be the Children of God? Well according to the Bible, those people did not yet have the Holy Spirit at that point in time. The Holy Spirit did exist, but it only ministered, and inspired men and women in those days. In fact, the Bible says to repent, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

I need to ask you a question. Since when did a persons sin become the person? Fornication is a sin. It always has been a sin, and it always will be a sin. Since when did the Bible ever say that God hated the sinner? I believe that it states that God hates the sin, but loves the sinner. According to the Bible, the reason that people are married is according to the laws that govern the lands. If there were no laws surrounding the union between two people, it would not be a sin. However, marriage is a part of the laws of the land, and have been in place for quite some time as we both know. However marriage is not what it was originally meant to be these days. In fact some marriages are abominations, or could be considered such. What i mean is that there are literally couples that are married in this day and age, that are in relationships, or marriages that are as robust as the rings that they placed on each others fingers.

Again, why not read the Bible and see for yourself what it says? At least you will be armed with a means of detecting the BS of organizations that claim to come in Christ's name, or claim to represent him, when they really only have their own agendas. I challenge you to do that, because it may show you things that you did not know about. Just think about it brother, how many fakes run around claiming things on a daily basis? You see people twisting the truth right here in these forums. I mean lying about things, and adding unneeded filth to themselves for the most trivial and unimportant things. Why couldn't the Bible be lied about to those that don't clearly know what has been written it it?

I'm going to ask you one more question. If someone that you don't even know, or ever saw in your life, walked up to you and told you that someone that you cared bout was dead, would you believe them, or would you need proof? I would need proof.

I don't feel like I addressed this first part. My tone came from your lack of knowledge. According to the Bible God gave the lowest to the mightiest a will of their own. This includes the Angels that were created to be the mightiest. Let me ask you a question. If you had a wife, child, and many friends, but you had the power to make them love you, would you? Or, would you rather that they love you on their own? In the same way that Christian's can't blame Satan for their willful actions, God can not be blamed for the despotic, and evil acts of some of his/hers/it's disobedient sons. They made their choices and now have to live with them. All of the Angels knew the rules, but some of them willfully disobeyed them, because they were given a will to do what they wanted to do. We all have our own choices to make. I hope that you realize that you have both the capacity to do right, and the capacity to do wrong. Lucifer did wrong, and God gave him a chance to repent, but he would not. Lucifer committed the unpardonable sin of blasphemy. This is the only sin mentioned in the Bible that would not be forgiven.

I understand what you are saying. For me though I would ask..what gives him the right to judge us? In our life, in the end, we do not answer to our parents, but ourselves. But then we also need to answer to someone we have never met and also someone who..despite the claims, does not seem to be "perfect". He has faults, he has blood on his hands, does he not?

There are groups of religious organizations that claim to be Christian, while only being Christ-like. They take a portion of the Bible that serves them, and add their little pieces to it, while omitting other parts of the Bible that goes against their agenda. Another thing that should be noted in the Bible, is that the Children of God did not exist historically, or canonically in the Bible until after the death of Christ. Now wait a second there.... That may seem to contradict the idea of the Son's of God, but it doesn't. The Son's of God were the Angels, and were not human. While the Children of God were human.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the first sentence. That perfectly describes the teachers I had in grammar school and high school.

But if someone is the Son of God how is that different from the Children of God? The term "Son" would fall under the word "Children".

But for me, I think the person should be given the holy spirit automatically. The idea that a person has committed sin just by existing is strange to me. What has a baby sinned for? I was baptized as a baby, obviously I couldn't give permission, but I don't think I'd committed any sins, so what was there to forgive?

I need to ask you a question. Since when did a persons sin become the person? Fornication is a sin. It always has been a sin, and it always will be a sin. Since when did the Bible ever say that God hated the sinner? I believe that it states that God hates the sin, but loves the sinner. In fact some marriages are abominations, or could be considered such. What i mean is that there are literally couples that are married in this day and age, that are in relationships, or marriages that are as robust as the rings that they placed on each others fingers.

But again, this is where it gets weird to me. God created us..that means he gave us the urge for reproduction as well, and for some people that urge can be damn strong..and yet you get a list of rules for it. Even just the fact he gives rules..comes down to the fact he can give us rules because he created us and is more powerful then us.

I guess the big question is..if you create someone..or even billions of someone's..do you have the right to set rules for them? Or rather, do you have the right to punish them if they don't follow the rules you set?

Again, why not read the Bible and see for yourself what it says? At least you will be armed with a means of detecting the BS of organizations that claim to come in Christ's name, or claim to represent him, when they really only have their own agendas. I'm sure plenty of people have either lied or mislead things about the bible. But I also think you have to admit even at its core..it can be disturbing, and I'm not even talking about stuff from the book of revelations.

The other problem is..the bible is tainted by humans. There were a variety of gospels written that were not included for..whatever reason.

I'm going to ask you one more question. If someone that you don't even know, or ever saw in your life, walked up to you and told you that someone that you cared bout was dead, would you believe them, or would you need proof? I would need proof.

It depends on the person. If it was like a cop, I guess I'd believe, but I'd be asking questions. A random person though I'd probably need proof.

But then we go back to God and you ask about proof..but God is all about faith. So if I was a religious person that asked for proof of God, would that be wrong?

But it seems like he gave different rules for the angels as compared to humans. If I had family and had the power to make them love me I wouldn't do it.

However, if I had the power to stamp out evil before it ever came into existence? I would.

I think you hit the nail on the head with the first sentence. That perfectly describes the teachers I had in grammar school and high school.

But if someone is the Son of God how is that different from the Children of God? The term "Son" would fall under the word "Children".

But for me, I think the person should be given the holy spirit automatically. The idea that a person has committed sin just by existing is strange to me. What has a baby sinned for? I was baptized as a baby, obviously I couldn't give permission, but I don't think I'd committed any sins, so what was there to forgive?

But again, this is where it gets weird to me. God created us..that means he gave us the urge for reproduction as well, and for some people that urge can be damn strong..and yet you get a list of rules for it. Even just the fact he gives rules..comes down to the fact he can give us rules because he created us and is more powerful then us.

I guess the big question is..if you create someone..or even billions of someone's..do you have the right to set rules for them? Or rather, do you have the right to punish them if they don't follow the rules you set?

I'm sure plenty of people have either lied or mislead things about the bible. But I also think you have to admit even at its core..it can be disturbing, and I'm not even talking about stuff from the book of revelations.

The other problem is..the bible is tainted by humans. There were a variety of gospels written that were not included for..whatever reason.

It depends on the person. If it was like a cop, I guess I'd believe, but I'd be asking questions. A random person though I'd probably need proof.

But then we go back to God and you ask about proof..but God is all about faith. So if I was a religious person that asked for proof of God, would that be wrong?

I really dislike breaking everything down like you did. Which is awesome, but I lack patience. So, I'll do the best that I can.

1. This is where a lot of people get things confused. It's not actually God that accuses people, but it is Lucifer who goes before God daily and accuses us. After all, if he can no longer go home and remain there, he certainly doesn't want inferior creations such as men and women to inherit what he lost. Take Note* Lucifer can go to Heaven whenever he likes, he simply is unable to remain there, and must return to Earth. This can be seen in Job when he comes before God, and the other Angels when he attempted to take Job's life.

Revelation 12:7-12 "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time."

2. A lot of people will disagree with me, and I don't really care. When it comes to the Bible, and those that claim to practice it, these people like myself, have to be tried by the book that we claim to practice. If the Bible says to never pray to false idols, and people still do these types of things, they are not walking the way that the Bible teaches them to, but are instead practicing Witch Craft. That's just one example.

----------------------------------------

God never accuses us though, but it is Lucifer who does this. The Bible tells us to be blameless before God, but it is not possible to be perfect. Everyone knows this. This is the reason in Bible canon that the Children of God need to have a relationship with God, and the reason behind the gifts of God which I will continue in a bit. For now this scripture comes into play.

Philippians 2:14-2:16: 14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing; 15 So that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.

And....

Ephesians 6:10-18: 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

We are born into sin, our flesh has it's own needs, and wants. For instance babies masturbate before even being born. Could this imply that babies could also have sex if they weren't alone in the womb? I mean could twins have sex with each other? They certainly can.

I can only guess, but I don't believe that Adam and Eve were made of the same substance that we are made of before they fell. Well wait, what does that mean exactly? Well if they were immortals, they couldn't have bee made of matter which ages, and eventually breaks down. I believe that Adam and Eve were originally made of some form of energy. After all, how could they be immortal if they were made up of flesh? The Bible even states that it took them close to 900 years to finally or some such to physically die. So when they fell, they slowly transformed, and took on a nature different than what they were to begin with. Strong evidence points to this.

It's difficult for us to see things that are not of the same nature as we are, because we keep trying to compare our natural points of views to those that are different than our own. Shit, think about it, you don't even know what it is like to be a member of the opposite sex, how can we even begin to understand what it would be like if we weren't flesh at all? Our entire attitudes about life would change if we weren't on a timer. That's just one perspective. There are like multitudes of others.
-----------------------------

If God is a lawful God or being, and I mean all the way down the line, and Lucifer goes before God to accuse man daily, could we conclude that God despises sin? Could this hate for sin be twisted to serve an intelligent being like Lucifer? Let's go back to where the bible tells us to "Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus for forgiveness" The bible tells us to put on the whole armor of God so that we may be able to resist the devil, or in this case devils. What is the Armor of God? I believe that the armor is a person righteousness. The more righteous a person is, the stronger their armor is. At least this is what I have concluded in my studies of the Bible. Why? Because the devil can not accuse the brethren before God, if they have done no wrong.

The Bible states that none will be given to marriage in the New Heaven, or Kingdom of God. Could this mean that there will be no sex in that Kingdom? No. The Bible never says anything like that. In fact the opposite can be assumed. Adam was lonely, and God knew this, so God created Eve to sooth Adam, or so that Adam had companionship. Should i believe that Adam and Eve did not have sex before they fell? I mean it could be possible. Things that affect us in the flesh, may not effect us if we were not flesh. Or at least not effect us the same way.
-------------------------------------

If fornication is a sin, then would the act of homosexuality be something that Lucifer could use to accuse people of? Well according to the laws of the land, the only way for sex to not be considered fornication is if the people partaking in the act were married. The Bible states this about homosexuality. It says that it is unseemly. I will not judge it, because I am in no position to do so. I also have homosexual friends that i trust with my life, and love with all of my strength. I am not homosexual though. Our laws also frown on having multiple wives, or multiple husbands in the case of women. But is it wrong? I don't believe that it is, as long as the people involved are fine with it. After all the Bible says that God loved David. David had more than one wife.
---------------------------------------

As per the books that were excluded, pulled from, or added, only to be removed. Many of them are, and were irrelevant to the main point that the Bible is trying to make. What did those books have to do with salvation, and sanctification? Those two words are the most important words in the Bible, and are in fact what drives the Bible. What good are the dead sea scrolls? What will the Shroud of Turin do for us? The world is filled with false religion, and precepts that go absolutely nowhere.
--------------------------------

If you were truly lawful straight down the line, would that also mean that any action taken by you, would have to be carefully weighed by you? All things are going to be judged according to the Bible. We know that the Angels in fact were given all of the same tools that man, and woman were. They were just made to be far more powerful than us. However they still were given a will to choose whatever path they were going to take. For instance, Lucifer and a 3rd of the Angels chose to go to war against God, and 2/3's of the Angels. If they did not all have a will to choose, Lucifer would have never begun a war in the first place. it's really up to you to make up your own mind on these matters. You seem elect though. I'm hoping that you will read the Bible for your self, and make up your own mind about it. Did you know that another person's opinion of things can in fact ruin your life, if you choose to blindly follow?

As for the OP's question.

Yes Lucifer was wrong to demand anything that was not his. No one is obligated to allow someone else to take control of their property. God should not be placed in that position either. Lucifer was basically tying to steal something that did not belong to him. He was wrong then, and he is wrong now. Let anything that is bound on Earth, also be bound in Heaven.
