Sword of the Berserk: Guts Rage, on Dreamcast. Hit me right in the nostalgia, but it’s objectively an awful game.

^ The PS2 Berserk game is alot better.

Did that ever get an English release? I don’t think it did

Nope it didn't, But i've played it because some friends imported it at the time.

I'm still waiting for my localized Digimon Decode. Lol

It's known as bad on PS4 Pro.

Glad I grabbed the free Epic Game Store collection. Or even my 360 copy is probably a better option then the PS4 remaster.

Is that a thing?

FFVIIR. Really impressed with Tifa's milkers but I learned they were nerfed and there were tears about it?

They were also making an issue about her wearing a sports bra.

iirc people were worried they'd be nerfed, but instead they stuck them in a sports bra.

I do recall people being annoyed she got bike shorts under her skirt too.

TBH, I think she looks great in the game.

It started when they patched it to perform better on base PS4's, and ended up totally breaking functionality for the Pro.

That was awhile ago though, guess they never fixed it.

Yeah, they all look really nice.

Huh. I didn't know that.

I'm assuming they did something ****y with the framerates too then, as that's the only thing I can think of that would explain the combat timing seeming so weird to me.

Yeah. I can't gush enough about how good the characters are in the game.

Mass Effect 3.

On the Xbox 360.

Shovel Knight has an ultra heavy armor you can buy, that prevents you from knocking back every time you hit someone, but comes at a cost of moving forward a few steps before coming to a complete stop.

The Propeller Knight stage features fan based attacks that blow you backwards and forwards. I reasoned the heavy armor should negate or mitigate that effect.

It does not. The armor makes things so much harder on smaller platforms, when a few steps can send you into the abyss.

Seems like an oversight on detail, imo.

Ys Seven.

Ya know what? I'm having a bit more fun here combat-wise compared to Ys VIII, which is crazy considering it's a PSP game.

They need to re-release one of those Ys games, The 5th game in the series.

Frankly they need to release all the Ys games on current hardware because to my knowledge the only platform you can play most of the games on is PSP and PC, but PS4, PS5, Xbone, and Xbox Series X owners are screwed.

Wanna play Oath in Felghana? Better get a PC or a PSP.

But yeah I am raring to play me some Kefin.

Yeah i know about the PS4, It only has 3 of the Ys games

what shit's me off with some of the releases of the games, No one stocks them in here for Australia through EB games well for the PS4. We've only gotten Ys 8

had to go on Amazon to get Memories of Celceta.

I don't play the Ys series but that sounds like a prime candidate for emulation tbh. If they're not giving you any options, then play what's available on your PS4 and emulate the others. It's unreasonable to expect folks to buy dead systems for that tbh.

I love the Shantae series, and happily paid full price for every single game...except for the original one. I'm not finding an old GameBoy Color when I can just emulate it. They aren't missing any profit from used sales anyway.

They ported the other games to multiple platforms, so it was easy to find. I'm more than happy to support games who do that. I know the original game is coming to Switch this year, but they waited a looooooong time to do that. I don't really feel guilty for emulating, especially when I so fully support them otherwise.

I agree 100%. Then they question why their games haven't sold insanely well and why their most recent games are the best-sellers. (I mean to be fair they are more accessible and pander to a lot of audiences.)

Also I'd really suggest trying out Oath in Felghana or Ys Origin one day, both very cheap and they have hands-down some of the best bosses in gaming. Both are available on PC and both are 2D (can run at 60fps on a potato computer), Origins is on PS4 and Switch as well. If it ever goes on sale I'd highly suggest checking it out. It also has some damn good platforming, with some challenging sections in that regard as well, no real low points for my money.

This is the (very easy) first boss:

To expand just a tiny bit... it looks a biiiit repetitive, but man once you actually play it, everything just feels so good to fight.

To get back on topic, the physical copies of said PSP games?... Yeah those are considered "rare" PSP games. By that I mean they will never really be under $100, which is ridiculous, imo.
